Ford Guy now Ram Man

Hello! I am new to Ram and this forum.

After ~ 270k miles on my 97' Ranger, the transmission decided to die. I was forced to find a new method of transportation.

My decision: 2015 1500 Ram 4x4 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel Quad Cab Tradesman/Express

I didn't really want the RamBox but it has its uses...

Everything is stock at the moment accept 5' Lund Nerf Rails I added on Tuesday. Next week I'm getting the front windows tinted to match the rear.

I am really excited about driving this new truck because my old Ranger was 5 speed manual RWD vs 4WD 8 Speed Auto!!

Any ideas on tires? I am looking at Falken Wildpeak A/T

How you like the ecodiesel? And on tires I have heard those are good until the siping wears out which is quick. I'd look into another, toyo at2, nitto terra grappler, hankook atm, cooper atp, bfg at, and I'm sure I'm missing some

Congrats on your new Ram, as well as getting 270,000 miles out of your Ranger! I am sure you will enjoy your Ram - I know I do! Kind of wish I had the Ramboxes - I know they will be handy for you. I to am interested in the real-life experiences on the ecodiesel. I definitely see it having a place in the Ram family. Congrats again!

So far "I'm loving it"! When driving down the highway doing the speed limit (70) its showing 26-27mpg, city 22-25mpg, when towing the trailer shown in photo it drops down to 19/20 mpg. The owners manual says the break in for best fuel efficiency is after 5k miles...

That's one huge step up haha. I've had 5 sets of wildpeaks. They're a good tire imo. And cheap

I'd been a Ford/Mercury man all my life, until 2009. First my wife got an '08 Caravan - then I got a Jeep Commander in '11 - and the '92 Ramcharger I'd been working on for 9 years became roadworthy last fall!
