i was looking around on ebay and i came across this dealer selling oem mopar remote start kits, ad says they are for 2016 Rams, and for only $100, i emailed the guy my vin and he said it would work on my truck. From what ive seen these factory kits go for over $250... this is a steal for an oem mopar kit and i went ahead and got one since its such a good price.

Dont know if posting the link is allowed, let me if it is and ill post it.

Im going to attempt to install the hardware myself and then have the dealer add the sales code, i need the codes added for my tow mirrors anyway, so ill have it all done at once. Im looking for a DIY install guide right now..

I did the oem remote start kit, wasnt too hard. Did exactly like you want to do, left the old module hanging and had them connect the new one and program the keys. While there they did my tow mirror flash. Was like $125 i think, but im in ny.

know of a guide that might be out there?

I think this will get you some info by plugging in your vehicle's make/model/etc. I won't be home for a few weeks so can't look at my documentation that came with it, but it wasn't too difficult. I took a little longer during the programming portion because I accidentally skipped a step like three times in a row.. The physical install is two (maybe three?) connectors and one wire splice. You then program the starter to your trucks key and it's a done deal. This is for the tip-start so if you have a push button starter, you'll need to find their other model that is for that.

This is for the one that I got for my 2014 tip start.

Ive been watching videos and readingi nstalls. Nothing is really consistent.

My biggest question is ..does FLRSCH7 come with the programming cable?
No video mentions it, but the install guide says sold separately.

also what about the hood pin? I haven't seen a hood pin since the 80s.

I can’t seem to find any videos of OEM remote starter install, everything I find is for aftermarket starts. Have you found any videos installing the OEM Remote Starter?

nope just OEM push start. I have settled on FLRSCH10...no tapping wires to the light swtich or OBD port.

EA67C3EF-1074-45B8-99DA-34734AC3A71E.jpeg If anyone is looking for one from flash logic I have what I believe to be the FLRSBA with the extra plug and play harness for $120 shipped. No more than 6 months old. (That’s how old the truck is). I have it because I bought my truck used from a dealership a few weeks ago and one of the first things I did was put in the OEM remote start. About half way through the install I discovered this “device” not knowing what it was. I took it out and finished the job and then came in to figure out what this thing was. Turns out the original owner had already installed this aftermarket remote start. No one knew. I have the instructions but you can download them from flash logic. You will have to tap the two lines for the CAN BUS near the ignition switch. The harness has already been fitted with two female spade connectors, you just need the male counterpart wire taps.

This is the one I got for my 14 2500 and it comes with the ADS-USB programming cable. I didn't use the hood switch. I'm the only one that works on the truck. I know it's there & for any work that requires me digging into the engine, I disconnect the battery anyway.

instructions aren't perfect, but it went in easily. Screw the stealership.

Found mine on eBay. Contacted OP but he hasn't been back on since posting. Here is a link to the one I found and purchased. He is currently out but check back with him as he may get more in.

I see yours is a 17', may be some differences?

I'll be leaving this link open in another tab. I think I have that flash logic, but I haven't checked. I'd rather have the OEM, as I intend on installing the passive key / push button start kit.
