After looking at the new 5th gen Big Horns, I think I decided to buy a used 4th gen. Just left the dealer (without buying), but what do you think?

They call it a longhorn, but it’s actually a Limited, equipped with almost every option I would want (long bed, ramboxes, air ride deleted). Seems like a pretty good deal. I would probably add the longest Maxcare available.

If the carfax checks out and/or it’s a certified truck then
I Would Definitely Go Buy IT

It does seem like a good deal. It’s been on their lot for over 2 months though according to the history report. And it was a lease vehicle that was sold by a fleet management firm, so probably part of a vehicle fleet. That’s probably the reason for the cheaper price.

Smart choice on the 4th Gen IMO.

The 5th Gen are hideous lol. Also, I stay far far away from the 1st Gen of anything. You’ll hate yourself when the third or fourth year comes out with a really cool feature or style.

My buddy has a limited longhorn. It’s basically a truck with the highest trim from what I understand. The limited I think is more sporty and the longhorn has that cowboy feel to it. I think that’s how they work [emoji6]

The 5th gen has definitely grown on me, to a point where I actually like them (especially the interior). But, reading the forums (while very small sample) has me worried about getting one (even though the drivetrain is for the most part unchanged, eTorque notwithstanding). In close to 30 years of car ownership, I’ve never been stranded due to catastrophic failure (whatever that might be). I’ve taken my Tundra on couple 2500 mile trips, and never once was I worried that the truck would not get me to my destination and back.

The biggest obstacle right now is the fact that a friend is a store manager at one of the Ziegler dealerships and can get me basically any car at Manheim for his cost. I’ve checked out what’s out there, and I can get a pentastar ‘18 Laramie (what I really want) for a hair over $30k (Hemis go for about couple thousand more).
Decisions, decisions, deciaions...

Hell if I didn't own a 2014 Limited and that truck wasn't a long bed I'd be driving too get it tonight....just kidding.

Pulled a build sheet on it and it's got 3.21 rear axle ratio along with open rear diff that would be a deal breakers for me.

Looks like a really nice truck at a great price for the year.

There’s no way it’s a “long bed” as that’s an 8’ bed.
My money is it being a 6’4” bed because it’s got the Ram boxes.
I wish dealers would put the correct information in the sales ad.

Dealer here at home has one with 30K miles on it for $44,000. Doesn't look as good as the one your looking at. I would get it.

Did they ever make a quad or crew cab with 8' bed?
To me, when they say Long Bed for CC, it implies 6'4", which is what this one is.

No they didn’t. They claim they it would become a commercial vehicle and could only reach a certain market. So it never happened.
A 6’4” bed is known as a regular bed. Plus it’s got the rambox
Only 2500’s and up get the option of a 8’ bed unless it’s a regular cab 8’ bed 1500 and those are becoming rare to find.
