First I'd like to thank Brandon and all the others for their experienced advice which has helped me beyond words. But in the countless hours of reading all I could stand. here's one I haven't heard so far.., I'm looking for some lift advise based on my recent modifications. For the record: 2017 Sport SC SB 4x4 5.7 with 15000 on the clock, no plans for off-roading, just sand here in So. Florida (Just a level/lift for Hurricane flooding).

When I first measured my truck, I had 4 1/2" of Rake (Off a 1/4" here and there, but basically 4 1/2") So I dropped the coin and ordered Bills all around intending to level it @ 2.8 in the front leaving a little rake (That I like). But first... I dropped an ARE "Z" fiberglass cap (A Claimed 180#) on the back. Now I could understand the rear dropping an inch due to the inherently wimpy coil springs, but the front also jumped up 2" Huh!? Wha!? so now I only have 1 1/2" of rake... Now explain how I got a free 3" leveling kit out of this deal??? Then I tried jacking the rear end back up the inch I had lost (at the Hitch) but the front only dropped 1/4" I would have thought the front end would have been the fulcrum in this instance. Could it be something to do with the geometry of the 4 link rear causing this phenomena?? So... do I plan a lift based on he original 4 1/2" of rake? Or the present 1 1/2" of rake by adding some 1 1/2" springs or shims to the rear end? Or here's another option just put a 3" BL in it and call it a day?.

Has anybody heard of this sort of thing?

Yes, I suspect the cap may weigh more than advertised, since I weigh more than the cap and it don't think I could do this much damage.

I've looked into the TTC 1223's but they claim a constant 500# to 800# load to set right

You kinda lost me. I need pictures with my story books, haha
From what you said you started with 4 1/2” rake added the Bilstein at 2.8 which would leave you with a 3/4” rake. But then you said that when you put the cap on, the front jumped up another 2” which would leave you 1 1/4” nose high. Or are you saying that you have not added the Bill's yet?
Let’s try just putting the fender measurements in. From the ground to the highest point on the wheel well. And there are a few guys here that a really good at math

Understood...
Thanks for the reply, I thought I was on my own here.
I'm an Engineer, so math is no problem.

No, this is all pre bilstein's still at all stock suspension.
The truck is going in the shop tomorow for the Bilstein lift and (Now) a rear spacer.
It will be interesting to see how it comes out.
I'll post pics

Original Fender measurements:
34.5 Front
39 Rear
=4.5" of Rake

After the Cap was installed:
36.5 Front
38 Rear
= 1.5" of Rake

So its basically level now, just doesn't look like a 4x4

Thank you for clarifying the cap looks great I like it. What size tires do you have?

The guys running the 2/4 drop kits are measuring 35 1/2” in the front after a 2” lowering spring. Your 36.5 in the front is more of an accurate measurement but it will come down to tire size. I will say if you had 4 1/2” of rake it would be pretty pronouced and hard to miss. The 2 pictures you shared have very similar rakes. Is it possible that the ground you measured on was uneven.

Yeah, I know its kinda hard to tell from the pictures, but all measurments were done in my garage.
They are consistant and like I said in the first post..., I tried lifting the back up an inch but the front only dropped 1/4"
I then took it up an additional 1.5" and the front then dropped 1 full inch, but not 2
The tires are the original stock 275 60 20

Factory tires are 33” so if your original measurement was 34 1/2 it would have looked very very low. I will politely say that your mistaken on your pre cap measurements.
Factory our 4th gens sit in the 36-38” range

I just went out and measured again, the tires are 32" and fender at 36.5
The pics are takin at the edge of my office parking lot where the slope for drainage is uneven and distorting.
So please don't use them as gospel.

Read through this thread and look at how big 2”’s really is. There are better threads on this but this one has measurements and pictures.
And the 295/35 r24 is a 31/32” tire so it is pretty close to yours

I was waiting for the drum roll...,
So yesterday my Hot Ram went under the knife and the results were favorable.
Turns out my calculations were pretty close.
OK..., Bilstein's all the way around installed 10/18/2018

Front set at 2.8, Rear with a 1.5" shim lift.

New Corrected Fender Dimensions
Front 39"
Rear 40"
Rake now 1"

Stock wheels and tires (For Now)
Looks a 100 times better, so I'm off to a good start.
No longer looks like Mommy's SUV
