If hes like me, It probably comes from the Wrangler TJ world where Bushwhackers are the fender flare of choice by the uninformed in most cases. Extremely Brittle is their biggest fault. Much of my brand dislikes stem from about a million years of playing with Jeeps .

I initially bought a set of bushwackers for my Ram painted PW7 white. I wasn’t impressed with the fitment, couldn’t get that rubber trim to stay on where it angles around the headlights. After battling that rubber trim I went to install them and the paint didn’t match so I said screw it, returned them and got my $800 back, never again.

Seems to me that the problem lies with the rubber edge not sitting the way it’s supposed to sit and it moves causing wear. I’m glad you took the initiative with your Mopar flares just in case. These flare makers need to add double sided tape to their designs so it would minimize movement, much like the OEM smooth ones that Mopar makes.

The mopar flares have a much better rubber trim than the bushwackers did
