I have somewhat unique 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4X4. I bought it with 7,000 miles on it. And someone initially ordered it with the Outdoorsman Group but with Monotone Paint (Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat) and painted bumpers.

Well, when I first got it, I noticed that the top front steel painted bumper was rubbing again the plastic bumper top fascia and rust was starting there. I pointed this out to my local Ram dealer 3 years ago, and under warranty, they had the bumper re-painted and I had the body shop apply some 3M adhesive film protectant to the top of the bumper where the rubbing is was taking place.

Well, 3 years later the bumper top rust is back.

I am out of warranty now and don't want to deal with this again, and want my truck to look different that the other million all black Ram 1500s out there. So I was going to replace the front bumper with this chrome one from Amazon. And I have a friend who is a decent mechanic, has a lift, and an awesome set of tools, so we were going to tackle the bumper swap ourselves.

Other than the bumper itself, do I need anything else to do this job, like a hardware kit???

I don't remember there being much one-time-use hardware in there so what you take off will go back on. Be careful with the fasteners that affix the air dam, if present.

I did not put my OE bumper back on when I removed it because I was installing an aftermarket bumper anyway but I didn't see anything that didn't look reversible.

Check youtube for some "how to" videos. Check the front air dam to make sure that it's not cracked or broken. Seems to happen to some of them. Also, check the mounts for your fog lights. Sometimes they get cracked, etc.

Should be a simple remove and replace... chrome and black painted bumpers are the same. Lots of people swap from the chrome to the painted bumpers.
