The first thing I will say is that it would be very unusual for the front diff or gears to go out at 22k. That is based on most trucks spending the majority of time in 2wd and therefore no wear, stress, or strain occurring on those parts. Also the turning and going very slowly typically doesn't go along with those components having issues. In any case: they simply didn't fix the problem the first time and it's more of a coincidence that the noise or issues stopped for 2,000 miles. The other option, assuming the parts they replaced were the original issue, is that they didn't install them correctly. Based on the first post, they are saying what failed again is the same thing they replaced.......usually assume the "gear set" and the "ring and pinion" are the same thing.
