Looking to replaced my front door speakers to work with my factory Alpine system for the 2019 RAM 1500 Sport. Any suggestions.
Thanks.

I have the following in my 18 power wagon that has the alpine system (or had)

Went with alpine pxe850s dsp/amp. Provides 25 watts per channel (12 channel amp), kicker kx series 3 way 6x9 for front and rear doors (1/2 spacers on the front speakers required). Kicker 3.5” dash speakers.

Crossfire 800.4 amp running 100 watts per channel to doors.

Crossfire 1000.1 running 2 crossfire 12” dvc subs in fox acoustics box under rear seat.

Lots of people did the infinity reference speakers for the dash and doors, since the factory system is a 2-3 ohm system. But since I’m back to good old 4 ohm I upgraded the speakers. Any questions feel free to ask.

I was interested in replacement door speakers for the 2019 Ram, but without using an amp. I saw you have an 18 Ram, are the systems pretty similar? I just have the base 6 speaker system.

The alpine system has the 8” sub under the seat passenger rear, center speaker and ceiling speakers as well. I believe there is also a different factory amp but am not positive (but makes sense to have one although I don’t know where it’s physically located if so).

You don’t NEED an amp if you go with 3 ohm replacements which would be kenwood excelons and I believe the infinity’s everyone usually does.

Check out crutchfield for a quick recommendation. They also include the metra adapters for free with the speakers so it’s plug and play. But since the doors are mid bass woofers only replacing those is a huge upgrade if you go with 2 or 3 way coaxials.

Ah, I didn't know the door speakers were mid bass woofers only. I'll definitely check out crutchfield. I appreciate the help man.

That’s why the system on the alpine has so much bass. 4 mid bass speakers plus sub. When windows are down and it’s cranked up to 30 it overwhelms the vocals.

2018 power wagon: cover king black tactical front seat covers, balsitic rear. Kicker kx replacement dash and door speakers, crossfire C5 800.4 amp for doors (100 wattsX4 RMS), crossfire C5 1000.1 pushing 2 crossfire 12” dvc wired to 1 ohm (1000 watts RMS). Flowmaster American thunder 50 series. Rough country 4.5” lift (installing in August), fuel off-road zephyr candy apple red w/ black trim 20x9 with milestar Patagonia M/T 37X12.5X20 (bought and paid for. Waiting to get made)

Michael Harpe,
Thank you for your response. I think for now changing my front doors will do. I already changed my dash and rear doors. Will do a search at Crutchfield.
Cheers.

Hi,
I did not find any 3 ohm speakers in either 6x9 or 6 1/2'' that will fit my trucks front doors. I called Crutchfield and spoke to an adviser. He was not able to find any either. Do you know of any specific speaker models. The Kenwood Excelons does not fit. Any help would be great.
Thanks.

Crutchfield is wrong. They claim the 6x9’s do not fit the front doors. They do with metra 1/2” spacers. The doors are shallow compared to the rear doors. Any 6x9 will fit. Look up 2018 ram front door speaker swaps on YouTube for verification.

Look the following up from crutchfield. 2 ohm up to 3 ohm

Jbl concert series 9631f
Infinity primus pr9631is
Jbl concert series 9631
Infinity reference ref 9632ix
Jbl club 9630
Infinity primus pr9610cs
Infinity reference 9633ix
Kenwood excelon kfc-x694
Infinity kappa 93ix

Michael,
Why would they not know these things. Speakers are their business. Very frustrating searching their website and every speaker I look at says it does not fit.

It’s because they don’t sell metra spacers. It’s why the speakers only fit rear doors according to them. I have the kicker kx 3 way 6x9’s in all 4 doors from crutchfield. They are 4 ohm and I used them because the 4 channel amp is 4 ohm. If needed I can pull off a front door panel and take a pic for any who doubt they fit.

Follow up to speaker install...
The Infinity Reference speakers actually came with two 6x9 spacers. I also purchased a pair of 1/2'' 6x9 spacers, These actually did not fit as the speaker fits into a molded space in the door panel. The supplied spacers fit inside of this space which worked great. The door covering behind the panel is one molded plastic covering. I have now changed all 6 speakers and it sounds great. Highly recommend replacing the stock speakers.
