Recently I hear and not feel a click noise from the front end when turning the steering wheel not sure which direction to be honest as it happens only occasionally at the moment. It’s a 2015 1500 hemi with 60k. Any pointers? Thanks

Assuming its 4wd, could be the cv joint(s) at the steering knuckle. Check the boots for splits where dirt can get in.

We certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you are not able to determine a solution based on suggestions from fellow forum members and you decide to address this with your Ram dealer, please be sure to follow up with us via private message. We would be more than happy to escalate your situation to a specialist who can work alongside you and your dealer while your truck is in service.

Clicking = Axle Shaft most of the time. Those joints aren't re-greasable, but you probably can shoot some grease in there through the booty, and then close up the booty hole :), but might end up with grease compatibility issues. You need to find out what grease is used from Mopar, this I do not know brother.

New axles aren't terribly expensive, but I like the oem's better then the generic replacements, so I might be inclined to save it if possible.

I don't see one, so if I had to do this I would use high temp trans gasket maker and put a small piece of plastic over it to plug that booty hole.

If it's just a single click it could be one of your sway bar end links.

If you have a certain maneuver that reliably produces the click you could just get under there and remove your sway bar links (it's easy and free..) and then see if the same click happens. if the click is gone you found your culprit. then you can either get replacement ones or those maxx links

Yeah, first thing to do would be get down there are make sure all bolts are tight, good point there. All suspension bolts plus shocks.

Is it click or clicking? Clicking would be axle shaft, if only click could be many things, even used up rubber bushings.

Should have mentioned my front end alignment doesn’t look to good either. Outer tire wear especially on front passenger side. I’ve been meaning to get an alignment done for a while but just don’t drive as much as I used to. Drives straight though doesn’t pull in any direction with hands off steering wheel.

Is it just me or is Burla having way too much fun saying “booty hole.”
Lol.

And OP, btw, where did you get that cup holder? Been looking for one just like that. One I ordered from Weathertech sucks.

Seriously though, I had a similar noise in my front end. Only in morning, turning out of driveway. I lightly sprayed some Fluid Film on all front end components like sway bar end links, upper and lower control arm bushings, etc, etc. Noise went away and hasn’t come back. It can’t hurt.
