Not sure of the tech name but the three prong 120v plug. I have plugged a couple of things into it ie an iphone and nexus 7. I noticed that the light on the plug did not light up to show power. Both were two prong. Am I missing something or should I take it in.

you have to switch it on. My 2011 has a button on the dash.

I believe my does not light up as well, but it still does charge everything I plug into it. For those with 2012's, there is no switch anymore, the plug is always on now.

Not true. My 2012 (made in March 2012) still has a switch.

Mine has a switch as well,
but

After re-reading BuckHunters post,
I think he means that the 2013's no longer have a switch....

I think he was just addressing his post to us 2012'ers

I have a 2013 Bighorn and that outlet can't run a drill for more than 30 seconds.

It's not designed to run a drill. I believe it's a 150W inverter. It's meant to power small electronics, i.e. laptop, tablet, etc...

mine ran a dremel while I was trimming my grille for the insert, but just barely haha, if it bogged down on high speed it would flip the breaker
