how much fuel does your 5.7l 4 gen frame consume on the highway, for example, at a speed of 60 mph??

I have the first year 4th gen 5.7 with the 5spd trans and 3.55 gears (according to the build sheet). Best I've done was heading from SC to FL on I-95; no real wind, mostly flat road, cruise set at 65mph and I got around 22mpg. Last trip I made down there I was in more of a hurry, running 75-80, and it dropped to around 18-19 depending on where I was and the speed limits. But as soon as you attach some decent weight to the truck, it starts dropping fast. Also when going to the mountains, I usually put it in Tow/haul mode to turn off MDS and change the shift pattern.

Around town, it's annoyingly low - high 15-mid 16. Many times I wish I could have found a newer V6 with the 8spd. But I couldn't find one in yellow.

Considering the wife's Ford Edge 3.5 V6 gets around 25mpg on the same trip - albeit at around 70mph - it's not too bad.

These rams were never made to get good mpg
