didn't realize fuel tank straps for the d150s were so different. I made a set of straps using my 92 d150 straps as templates. then went to the local pick and pull to get the proper crossmember to mount an EFI tank to my old frame. they had a 91 and 93 on their lot. checked both for the best, least rusted crossmember. both had different tank straps. I didn't realize this until I got the crossmember off a 91 home, tried to use the template 92 straps and the mounting point and style were 100% different. so went back to the pick and pull to get the straps. the 91's were rusty so grabbed the 93s. they don't fit as the mount is different. WTF. the replacement straps online list 88-93 but I don't know how that could be. crazy.

i think it really depends on you but i would probably just make my own straps. it is usually pretty cheap to make your own. i think the ones used on most of the trucks bolt to the truck on both ends but i think the 91 and newer might have had a T shape on 1 side and bolt holding the other end to the cross member through a clip. i always double up the metal on bends and made this set out of stainless steel. made them a bit wider but they were also a bit thinner but they seemed to hold the 36 gallon tank just fine.

that was the surprise, I made a set of tank straps using my 92 straps as a template. it has the "T" at one end and a post bolt at the other. the 93 straps had 3 bolt holes that bolt to the frame and then post bolt at the other end. the 91 cross member also doesn't fit the 93 straps. all of this is regarding the rear straps. anyway, I just ended up making a rear strap add on to use the too short 93 strap today. had to use some 1/8 inch x 2 inch mild steel stock. probably way too thick but I know it won't fail!

i have had to make a few straps over the years but i usually wasn't modifying things. as long as it works then that is all that matters.
