I did a quick search and didn't find much, my question is if you had a proper tune would running a whipple be ok on the stock motor, or would it be more beneficial to have a forged bottom end? I know with the forged bottom end the motor could handle more boost. just wondering thanks in advance

One of the members on this forum, Tachtech, was running a Whipple on his stock but tuned 5.7 and blew his up
I believe throwing a rod. He is now running forged pistons and rods....

If you install the kit as is without changing anything the truck will survive. It's when you start increasing boost/fuel tune that can get you into trouble.

Drive the truck reasonably and it will last.

with a stock bottom end, stick with 6 psi and you'll be good as long as your tune has the air fuel ratio correct.

The tune that Whipple includes with the blower is not the most aggressive but it will be safe on an otherwise stock truck. I have customers pushing 9-10psi now on E85 on the stock bottom end and still running strong though.

Just remember, you gotta pay to play. If you start running forced induction or other major mods better put some money in the savings account in case something goes kaboom.
