G56 Manual in 2019 or 2020

Looking at possibly buying a new truck. Want a Cummins with a manual trans. Apparently ordering for the 2018 HD closes at the end of this month. I am wondering if anyone knows, with some certainty, if the G56 will be offered with the 2019 and 2020 model year. I'm not 100% sure I will be ready to order until ordering opens for the 2019 model (which I understand will be a short run).

TFL video I watched this morning says no manual and no 5.7 hemi on the new trucks. It was a video with the head engineer.

If you want a manual you better get one now. They are a thing of the past and not going to be in the lineup from here forward.

Slightly offtopic, but curious if what I once read was true: You needed to Granny shift the G56 and it wasn't able to handle much power, it also wasn't as fun as you'd expect it to be

I thought granny shifting was only needed on old gearboxes with no synchros?

No way this transmission is that old.

A video I saw from the Chicago auto show said that the manual is only available on the 2019's if you have a Diesel. I can't remember if this was on the 2500 and 3500 or just the 3500 though.

No manuals in the diesels for 2019, only auto's. These are your choices...

• 6.4L HEMI V8 : 410 hp / 429 lb-ft : 8-speed automatic ZF

• 6.7L I6 Diesel : 370 hp / 850 lb-ft : 6-speed automatic 68RFE

• 6.7L I6 Diesel : 400 hp / 1,000 lb-ft : 6-speed automatic AISIN
