Gas pump cuts off every second or two.

I went to two different gas stations this morning and both pumps would only run for a second before cutting off. I assume the vapors are not able to escape, so I am thinking it may be the filter next to where I put the gas pump in to fill up. Any videos on how to remove it to check it? Also, the Check Engine light is not on. Thank you.

The factory filter you will have to unfortunately brake the plastic clips to remove easy process though remove clean i used brake clean and gas to rinse it out dont know if thats correct but it worked and zip tied back in place no issues since

If you top off the gas tank when filling, i.e. continuing to fill past when it first clicks off full, you may have fuel in the carbon cannister, and that will allow the vapors to 'clog' the filler tube.

My dealership battled with this for months. The one thing that finally fixed it was replacing the fuel tank. Once that was done, never had another problem filling it ever again. I've even went to the same pumps at the same gas station many times and once the fuel tank was replaced, it never has happened again.

What filter is that? Is it this one? I am not yet sure if the following is the one that would fit my V6 Gasoline Trucks.

Yes the vapor canister filter it is on the vent hose witch is all part of the filler neck assembly

Is it possible to get the filter (next to the top of the filler hose) out without taking the vent tube all the way off?

I've found if I put the filler nozzle all the way in, back it out about 1", then slowly start fueling for 30 to 45 seconds, then slowly increase to full flow, I rarely get a nozzle shut off.

If I start off pumping fast, it will shut off quickly, and multiple times.

I just opened the gas cap and could hear/smell vapors being released.

I got to the filter. It had some dust in it, but not sure it was enough dust to cause the issue. I knocked the dust out and will get gas today to see if it helped.

It would have to be somthing with the vent allowing pressure to build even though the tank is not full normaly if there were a issue with the evap it would set a cel with a code all i can think of is to check the vent hose and ensure its not obstructed in any way

How would something get in the vent hose? Is the vent hose easy to take off, or should I take it somewhere?

It would throw a code if it were the evaporative emissions system leak detection pump, correct?

I just went through this with my 18, dealer said it was a stuck valve in the tank.
They replaced the tank ($1496) and covered it 100% under major emissions warranty

I had this problem when I first bought my new to me 2021. For the first several fill-ups I found at one of the local gas stations did it every time and at another it only happened intermittently. I used the latter for a couple weeks until it stopped. My guess was the filter needed time to air/dry out. After it stops, don't top off.

Had the same problem with a 95 Toyota T100, could barely get it to take gas with a fuel can. Removed the tank and inside was a little flapper that had gotten stuck closed.

Just went thru this with my 2019. Had no issues for 5 years then all of a sudden I could only put in a couple gallons in 15 minutes. Happened 5 times in a row at different stations. Dealer replaced the tank and it's been fine since.
Apparently there is a check valve on the tank that closes incase you tip over and they tend to get stuck and can't be fixed. Built into the tank, so they just replace the entire thing

Same here. The valve is built into the tank and can not be replaced. So the whole tank has to be replaced. i had to pay out of pocket as it was pass my warranty. So I had the fuel pump and tank replaced. Even the dealer told me when the pump stops after a fill, dont try to force more. The old days a done and gone.
