Most all of my vehicles at times will shut off the pump if I start it on full flow. At times more than once. I do as mentioned above, I don't put the nozzle in all the way. I also top off the tank (against the rules) with a slow fill. I listen for the the fuel bubbling up to tell me when is enough. I can usually add 2 to 5 gallons into my 32 gallon tank. I have always done this on all of my vehicles. I have never had a problem.

Of course if you over do it and it is hot and you are not driving very far after the fill, you could get fuel into the evap system.

Went through this issue for over year now. Finally took my Warlock to the Ram Dealer yesterday. Ended up being a defective pressure relief valve on the tank. Dealer installed a new tank. Fortunately I have the extended warranty so didn't cost me anything.

So a few days ago my 2021 Ram Longhorn, with 33 gallon fuel tank, would not take more than about a gallon of gas before the pump shut off. Initially I thought it was the pump and went to a few different gas stations before I realized my truck was the common denominator. Using the funnel I could get a few gallons in before it would spit up, so assumed I was looking at a tank replacement like others have mentioned here.
Today the dealer replaced a ESIM (what ever that is) for a couple hundred bucks and the problem seems solved. They put in 5-gallons without issue, and I topped the tank with another 6 gallons on the way home. Hopefully my next full top off will also work fine.

I am suspicious that my rollover check valve ball may be sometimes sticking on both of my V6 gasoline RAM 1500 Trucks. The last few fills I start off filling with little spurts: ~1/10 gallon, wait a few seconds then repeat maybe 5 times or so. After that the tank seems to fill continuously at the lowest fill nozzle setting. I am thinking that 'maybe' the few short spurts of gasoline may knock the sticking ball free.

I have not yet checked that filter. Since the filter does not cost a lot, would it be a good idea just to replace it with a new one anyway?

I leave it idling and swing the handle to the right so it's sitting about 5pm location, no issues. If I shut the truck off... click, click, click, click.
