Gave the truck a facelift

Just got done giving my 2016 big horn a new look on the front end, I added the rough country light bar grill and sport headlights, I love the new look and the extra light output with the light bar, I wired the relay into the high beams so it goes on and off with the highs.

Looks good. One thing though, I'm not sure where you live, but I can't think of any US state where having it on with the high beams on the road would be legal. Unless you never use your high beams on-road, you may want to move it to an independent switch.

Why would it not be legal on the high beams? Always switch to lows with oncoming traffic anyways

Because the low beams stay on when the high beams go on and the law is written in most US states and Canadian provinces that you may not have more than 4 forward facing white lights active, regardless of oncoming traffic or the lack thereof. 2 lowbeam bulbs and 2 highbeam bulbs together is the max. Some states even require you to have covers on the aux lights when on-road (California is one, iirc) to make certain that you can't turn them on. Again, I don't know where you live or what the specific laws are there, but you might want to check into it before a bored or "low on the quotas they say they don't have" police officer decides you look like a nice target because of it.

I just realized I could see your Maine license plate in your picture and did a lookup. Looks like Maine has very little to say about aux lighting. The only item I can see that they might be able to catch you on is section 4. Please note though, I am neither a lawyer nor a LEO, just someone who has a done a lot of research on the lighting I can get away with in NY and the states I travel to regularly.

Yes I looked it up and section 4 was the only thing that really looked like it applied to this, Maine is pretty lax on vehicle laws like this really, we have tint laws that say you can’t be lower than 35% on front windows and my last 4 trucks have been 20% never had a problem with it. I ll see what happens, I love the added light when driving, gives a lot more opportunity to catch animals like deer or moose jumping in the road before you’re on top of them. Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, I've got both my trailers registered in Maine. 5 years of Maine reg costs me less than 1 year in NY and NY agreed to honor Maine trailer registrations in return for Maine participating in the DMV "No license renewals for deadbeat parents" program.

I hear ya on the animal life. I've got family in Maine & Vermont. Moose vs Motor Vehicle rarely ends well for the vehicle or it's occupants.
