I live in Ottawa so finding a place that specializes in gears is proving difficult and I really don't want to get reamed by the dealer, figured there must be people in this forum who have already looked into it. Heck, the VERY complicated axle, driveshaft swap plus gears has been beat to death.....this I would figure is closer to standard procedure

I would be suprised if there was no one in ottawa who is able to do your gears.
But if there isnt a trip down to la belle province would be in order, i can hook you up with great shop!

I cant believe this is still an on-going issue for almost 4 years!
That dead horse is a skeleton now.

Did Fiat force any changes to the Jeep line up when the ZF's started taking over Ram axle production?
I've been out of touch with the Jeep scene since retiring as a Jamboree TrailGuide 10 years ago,
and was a die hard Dana user/supporter for years where aftermarket support has always been top notch when it came to staying current.

I guess Ram's are not as prominent in the off-road community
where larger tires, lower gears and lockers are the norm like they are with Jeep owners.

ReGearing 2012 Ram with 4.7l

My truck is sluggish off the line with it's semi-hemi, what gears would you recommend I go to for more power without sacrificing too much mpg. I do not plan on lifting or bigger tires, and yes, it is a 4x4. Would 4:10's be too low? Maybe 3.92?

So far Dana is still building the axles for the Wrangler. Once the 2017's launch though all bets are off.

I Currently Have 3.55s
With The 6-Speed Tranny
I Am Thinking About Going To

3.73s Or 3.92s

Is This Something I Should Consider Or Just Leave Alone

And If So What's A Gear Swap Cost?
I have the 3:92's from factory and my truck definitely kicks ass off the line.
I also have the 8spd though.

With that said I've been told many times that you won't see much difference between rear end ratios with the 6 spd+ transmissions.

Can't imagine a Hemi being slow off the line though as in Hupomeno's case.
