Finally picked up the truck from the shop yesterday. Went wth 4:56 What a difference the taller gears make. The shop suggested an aftermarket rear end cover to help with cooling. However he said they do not make one yet that would fit with the track bar and sway bar. Has anyone found one to fit? I have 2018 2500 with the off road package and the 11.5” rear end.

Dont listen to him about the diff cover. Look at Gale’s videos. They make a LOT of sense. Seriously considering what he says.

Is there a way to tell what gear ratio my rearend has without pulling the cover?
The gear ratio will be on your build sheet. You do have one don't you?
Or you can jack up the rear of your truck. Transfer case in 2wd. Transmission in neutral. Mark the driveshaft. Spin the tires one revolution and count the revolutions of the driveshaft. If you have 3.21:1 gears the driveshaft will rotate nearly 3 1/4 times for every 1 tire rotation. 4.10:1 would be just over 4 d.s. rotations. Count carefully as 3.73 and 3.92 will be similar.

I'm running the mag hytec on the front and rear. After the break in I replaced the diff fluid with redline. I watched the Banks videos and he has good points, but I've been using mag hytec for years with real world testing and never had any issues what so ever . You will love the gears worlds of difference.

I found a shop in ponca city that will do it for 1700 in labor
If i bring then the kit
They are an all around shop they do engine, transmission, rear end etc.
They also have a 90 day warranty on their work
Which the shop in Tulsa didn't do
I am talking to local fellas to see what they think
I have had them do some minor work over the years and they have always done great work
And the fact they are only 18 miles from me is appealing as well
If there is any trouble it would be a lot easier to get it 18 miles than 80 lol

I'm in michigan also and was wondering what shop you used as I'm planning on doing this in the spring. I'm just outside of Flint.
Drive Train Specialists aka DTS, are in Ionia as well as Groesbeck at I-696. I've had work done at the Warren location. Very nice, friendly and helpful folks. They have gone above and beyond for me. I've had ARB lockers, swapped to a Dynatrac front axle & gear swaps done. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
