what are your rpms at with 35’s and 4:88? 55 65 & 70mph

I’m trying to decide on 4:88 or 5:13 with 295/70/18

Use the calculator. Add about 100 RPM for wind resistance.

I have 275/65/20 which is 34 inches. Your 295/70/18 would be like 34.25 inche. Basically same as mine.

I had 4.10 stock, and love the 4.88s. Towing I may would have liked 5.13 better. But when empty, I love the way it drives now with 4.88s and I'm in WV as well, so lots of hills and mountains.

Mountaineer83: Happy with shops install and price? I'm in Morgantown and considering purchasing a 2017 3500 Cummins and may do a gear swap. Interested in "local" shops doing this work.

Clinger what gear are you looking for? I have my old 3.73's off of my 2500. If yours is a 3500 SRW I think the rear end is the same (10.5") Dell em' to ya cheap!

I was very happy with his price and service. I had a noise not associated with the swap, but he even went for a ride with me trying to pinpoint it. He is a Ram guy himself and knows his driveline stuff inside and out.

The shop is in Charleston, but I'd recommend him hands down! I also have my 4.10s he took out. Trying to get my boss to put 'em in his Cummins.

The shop I used is Drive Line Service. Check out his Facebook page. Tons of cool pics and projects he has done . Guy is crazy about Jeeps as well.

Thanks! I'll definitely consider this shop if I go for a swap.

Not sure what I want at this point. The truck I'm considering has 3.42 gears. I plan to run 35 or 37's. I need to scan all the discussions regarding gearing.

Check out the Cummins Forum also. I am running 34.3 Tall Tires and just changed to 4.10 AAM. Much better all around.

I do have my 4.10s I took out. I'm in the Charleston area and he said the gears were mint. No problem putting them in another truck. Let me know if you decide anything.

Seems like Mountain may cut you a sweet deal on them.... 4:10”s may not be a bad option.
