Hi everyone,

I figured I'd start a build thread for my Dad's truck. I named it Fred, after him. :) I will post everything I do to it here. My Dad had a few things done before I obtained the truck.

Here is the list he had done to it:

Smoked Window Guards
Big Rig front window light bar
Ram nerf bars
Bedliner
Fiberglass tonneau cover
Black Katskinz Leather
Blind spot mirrors

Here is my list:

New Interstate Battery
LiquiMoly 5W30 MolyGen w/ 300ml LiquiMoly Hydraulic Lifter Additive, and 300ml can of MOs2
New Mopar OAT Coolant
New Fram Air Filter
New Rear Bumper (Dad bent the old one pretty bad....lol....)
DNR Black Bumper Guard
Cabin air filter mod
Carbon fiber license plate frames
SS Pedals, all 3 (just slip on)
WWP Mid with 18" Muffler
Carbon Fiber decals to go over the chrome emblems
Carbon fiber inserts for the Ram heads, front & back
Carbon fiber gas door cover
Carbon Fiber Antennae Base cover
Carbon Fiber Door Lock Rings
Carbon fiber outer door handle covers
Carbon fiber rear license plate light inserts
Carbon fiber arm rest cover
Carbon Fiber inserts for the sport wheels
7" copper core stub antennae
New exhaust ground strap
Carbon Fiber Rear Tailgate Handle Release
Black brushed aluminum interior knob covers
New Gloss Black front Honeycomb Grill
AGS Delete
Carbon fiber door switch covers
Carbon Fiber rear view mirror outer rim
DeeZee tail gate assist
Mishimoto Big Direct Fit Catch Can
Carbon fiber sill scuff plates
Injen evolution 8100 CAI
Carbon fiber covers for over and under the sliding outside rear window

On the way:

AFe Throttle body spacer

Well, that's about it for now and there will be more added. Any cheap (lol...) suggestions are certainly welcome. The only reason so much carbon fiber is because the truck is black. I will post pics once things are all installed. :)

Best regards,

-Mike

Good start so far! I would suggest a Dee Zee tailgate assist and maybe some wadestar blind spot mirrors. Those are some of the first things I added to mine and now I can't live without them. And they are pretty cheap too!

Have not heard of this mod. By the description it sounds amazing!
It catches most of the oil going back into the intake manifold so it doesn't coat your intake valves. I have a Mishimoto catch can on my Hyundai Veloster N and it works great. I empty it every oil change. It only catches about 2 ounces per change. The new Hyundai Theta II engines only have about .05% blow-by. The Honda Type R has about 4% blow-by. The VN is my summer car.

Best regards,

-Mike

What's the installation process like on this? Tough? Maybe I'll scope out some yt vids. I like this product to throw on my truck

Agreed, the smallest thing a guy can do to his truck is often the best thing he can do, spot mirrors are the ish. I also suggest the square type and not the round type, and ones that you can maneuver into position. These small devices save untold number of lives, I am not big on mandates, but I honestly think these should be mandated.

It's a 20 minute install. Here is a video of the install. It is really easy!

Installing the oil catch can on Thursday, any advice or tips on what to do after installed. Like go back and clean intake valves or anything like that?

I'd run a can of Chevron Techron through the gas. After that check the can every 1500 miles or so. Not sure with this engine how long it takes for the can to fill. I am hoping with the added capacity we can empty it every oil change. I think you will like this maintenance mod.

Best regards,

-Mike

Trying to decide to tint the front windows or not? Maybe a 50% tint? Opinions?

I did 50% black ceramic tint over all 6 windows in my truck. 50% is really light actually and barely noticeable from the outside in the windshield but from inside is extremely helpful. And I can still see very clearly through all my windows at night as it’s not overly dark. Also redline SL-1 is a super fuel system cleaner that is supposed to clean the valves as well. I use it once a year in both my vehicles.

Yes, I am going to tint the fronts. You talked me into it! :) I'm not too bad at wrapping things in vinyl so I may just give the tint a try. Just gotta make sure the window and the sill is very clean.... Thank you for the advice.

Just ordered the appropriate front/rear diff. and X-fer case, Sig. Series Amsoil fluid for it too.
