Took the, yet to be named, Truck in for Rustproofing and Undercoating, today.

Probably did more harm, than good, but this way, when the Rust does pop up,
I have REALLY good reason for my disproportionate Anger.

Came home and found another Gift from the great Amazonian God.
Truly, it's amazing, inconsequential financial offering - Amazing Gifts just show up.

Was going to stock up on Liqui MOly but those I trust, yeah, you Idiots on this forum, say this stuff is better.

Then again, I used Liqui Moly, on my 2014, because those I trusted, back then,
Yep, you guessed it, More Forum Idiots, said it was the best for helping to stop failed Lifters.

Evidently, this stuff is the new Wonder Oil.

Like with the Rustproofing, Probably just giving me more reason to complain when my Lifters eat my Camshaft.

Sure Hope Not.
Really Hope the Forums Collective "Know their Sh$t" guys, really do know their ......

Ever get disproportionately excited about the dumbest Things?
Way beyond their Cost, Value, or even Utility?

The Great Omnipotent Amazonian God delivered yet another gift today!

For an insignificant financial Offering of $30, I was rewarded with a Gift far beyond any Expectations.
Not quite like winning that super powerball jackpot but, close, real close.

Had a set of these cup holders in my 4th Gen.
I never used them but most everyone else did and found them super handy.
Got lots of comments about the dumb things.

Once in situ, they sit just a tad bit below the lip of the door pocket but nice and snug fit.

cup008-jpg.jpg

Outside looks weird but that's so it will fit so snug in the door.
They go in the middle section or divider, along very bottom of the door.
Not what I would call Soft but not hard either

Just know they;re handy and people seem to like them.

Angled bottom for tight fit.

Picture that shows how much lower than the door pocket it sits. Still, works great for almost every sized container.

Had to tow a 20ft, heavy duty, car trailer, loaded with a Ford Edge, for a friend.
Truck squatted down, like Lady Poodle.
Uh, NO.

Hell No!
Not MY Truck

Promptly bought these Tuftruck 1211 Rear Springs.
Same ones I had on my 2014 1500 and loved.

TTC-1211-web-600x398.jpg

Called them up, before I bought.
Superb group of folks.
Answered my every question, even the Dumb ones.

They then dispensed with terrific info of their own.
Told me, 5th Gen trucks have a progressive rate spring.

OEM Rate of spring compression is 400#, first 2" ; then, 500#, for every 1"
TCC-1211 : 640#, every 1" : 900#, directly over rear axle, will drop 1.5" vs O.E.M. 3" Drop

Can't wait for them to get here!

Finally, hit 50°, today, so warm enough to put on a decal, I've had, for awhile now.

20230304_165556.jpg

Not sure if I want to keep this one or another I bought.
Wife and Goddaughter said this one, so ...
I sorta like the other one.
Bigger and takes up every inch of that top black bar.

00.jpg

Found out, later, the Girls didn't like it because it's not as bright but,
it also has a top sheet, you remove , once it's in position,
so you cannot really see the true color.

Since I got two of them, think I just place on under the other and see how it actually looks.
Excited the warm weather is coming, Go Fishing and do things to my truck.

Decided the decal above looked kind of cheap & cheesy so changed it out with this one.
Simple, Solid Gray.
Classic.

TufTruck 1211 Springs finally got installed.
Been far too cold but got up to 70°, for a few hours
so my Son, and Son-in-Law, got them done.

Drivers Side

spring003.jpg

Passenger Side

spring0004.jpg

took only a few minutes, Jack up the truck, drop the sway bar, yank old springs,
slap in new springs, then re attach sway bar.

Truck rides slightly stiffer but not in a bad way.
More "Planted", if anything.

Old Springs, when my little 28 ft camper hooked up, about 550# of tongue weight, truck felt like it
I would walking on a blow up fun house floor. Swaying this way and that.

Overall, the experience was rather unpleasant. Not used to trucks behaving, that way, when under a load.
I've always had 3/4 tons and they never felt like that.

Some of that squishiness sensation may very well have been the tires but, no way, could all of it have come from the tires.

Not too mention OEM Springs compress 2"inches for first 400#'s of tongue weight,
then 1" inch, for every 500#.

With the OEM Springs, I figure truck had about 2.5 inches of squat, which, in and of itself, is unacceptable, to me.
Really excited to hook up teh camper, now, and see how much of it was OEM SPrings and how much was the tires.

WHo knows, new tires might be next Mod.

Read about how Ram Sun Visor;s are notorious for breaking the base, where the shaft of the visor goes into it.

Kinda like this.

00019_.jpg

Nope, ain;t gonna happen to my truck. Figure ounce of prevention and all that.

so, bought this, from the Great & Almighty Amazonian Gods.

got to say, went in smoothly & easily.
Much easier to stop something , from breaking, then trying to fix what broke, after the fact.

Here's what it looks like OEM. Drop the sun visor, downwards, then move it to the side anad stretch it out, as far from the base as ya can get it.

visor003.jpg

Now find the tiny little tab, on teh cover, and insert a screwdriver or pry tool to remove
the tab and allow access to the screws holding everything, together.

visor002.jpg

Once tab opens up, you will see two, T-20 Torx Screws, that holds it all together.
Now is the time to remove the Tab, completely, as you will no longer use it.
Best to get it out of the way, now and just toss it in the trash. To remove, pry from the side of the base, against the tab and it will pop out.

visor004.jpg

When you get teh two T-20 Torx screws out, toss them too.

The adapter kit comes with a base plate that goes where the tab once did, to level
everything, which allows you to place the larger, thicker, protective plastic over it all.

visor005.jpg

Simply align the holes, between top, thick, protective bracket, with the underlying base plate and screw until snug.
DO NOT HULK OUT.

visor006.jpg

Easy Peasy 5 minute job that should prevent sun visor form breaking.

Decided I needed front Tow hooks. Order from Benny, at allmoparparts.
Nothing beats OEM Equipment AND they had a great rpice with ship and fast shipping.

Had my Son, and my Son-in-Law, install the tow hooks when
they did the TufTrcuk 1211 Rear Springs.
Need less to say, the tow hooks took longer.

Not hard to do, at all. just one really long botl.
Top it off, this long bolt has one of the thin, srew on to the threads,
type of wsher that keep the long nut from falling out, once untread from its nut,

So, once all loose, have to place a pair of channel locks around the bolt
and hit the side of the channel locks with a hammer to get the bolt out.

of course, the Engineers leave little to no room to do all of this.

hook001.jpg

so purdy

hook002.jpg

hook003.jpg

hook does not hit a single thing , nor does it rest or lay upon anything.

hook005.jpg

this is what it looked lie, before. Just two black grilles, one on each side of the license plate.
Now, I got tow Hooks on each side.

Tried to check my engine, fluid levels.
Uh, yeah, righto.

Ended up, standing, on an uptrurned, Bucket.
Not the best thing for a 60 yr old, Handicapped person, to be doing.
Enter the Great & Merciful Amazonian Gods, once again:

Told the Wife I bought ti to change out Light bulbs, in her House
AND
to do some touch up repairs on the ceilings and along the tops of the walls, for her.

She never suspected a Thing and this does not count, as money, wasted on my Truck.

Yeah, Double Yeah, ME.

EDIT:
Did you notice how Nice the tow hooks looked?

Yeah, you did, Tow Hooks are like B00bies,
everyone always sneaks a quick, appreciative, Peek.
It's how you can tell real Guys, from Transgender Guys, still in Self-Denial.

If you did not notice the tow hooks, I got some Bad News for ya.
Might want to sit down. Like you do, when you take a Whiz.

Those are some nice tow hooks… first thing I noticed! I swear! Thanks for the info, I ordered the step and stake pocket covers from the Amazonian overlords. My truck came with the chrome hooks. They were clearly intended for guys to notice, not to actually tug on!

Not a Fan of this Trucks Hitch Receiver.
First time, in my Life, I got a noisy one.
Ever Insert, rattles.

Pin Rattles.
Insert slaps against the pin too. back and forth, with loads, during take-offs and braking.
Not to mention, the inserts all have vertical travel, within the receiver.

But, the worst part, of this receiver, is the safety chain holes.
Located, 3 & 3/4 inches, behind, the receiver opening itself and tucked, way up, underneath the bumper.

Seriously?
Come on, Mopar Designers. torture your Mechanics with goofy designed but not the End User.

Hopefully, these Hooks I added will makes things easier on my arthritic joints.

20230409_082626.jpg

There it is, Still 3 & 3/4 inches back.
Except it will move, a bit, and be easier to get hooks on and off than through those tiny opening, which cannot be seen, except by ants.

I appreciate work by Braille, as much as the net guy, but not when playing Twister

20230409_082547.jpg

little bit of Red Loc-tite and they should never come apart.

20230409_082543.jpg

Go back an look at that first image.
The safety chain opening are in a square tube, each side and bottom.
Safety chain hook has to go through two of those holes, to be connected.
Almost 4 inches inside and up tight against the bumper.

First person I ever met, who says they design for Cars,
think I'm going to deliver a Hay Maker that'd be the envy of Mike Tyson.
Might give them a good swift kick in the Jewels, just for Fun.

Don't care where or when.

EDIT:
Researching this junk Hitch Receiver and came across this info:
Ram O.E.M. class IV two-inch hitch receiver has a 12,750-lb tow rating with 1,275-lb tongue weight capacity.

Thinking about a Draw-Tite looks much easier to hook chains up.
Now, if it is only quiet too.

Went to the local Lund Boat Dealer, today, and not only did they have my parts
but I found a Raised, Chrome, LUND Decal/Lettering, that would fit perfectly,
in that little space, above my slider rear window.

Yeah, Me!

3rd set but I flat out love these. Others were okay but this is what I was trying to find, all along.
