Going to cut the bumpstop cups off, how where do I put the new universal ones?

Going to cut the bumpstop cup off my truck in the next 2 or 3 days to hopefully fix where the cup hits the control arm. I've got some energy universals, I see a hole at the top but no way to get to the other side and 2 holes on the bottom porch. Do I need to get nutserts or rivnuts?

Hadnt sone it yet, still trying to figure out the best way to install the bumpstops into the non threaded holes. Checked with mcgaughys to see if they'd sell me the bumpstops and brackets for the 44050 but that was a no.

Got them cut off, couldn't find any 3/8 toggles at hardware stores. So far so good, hadnt bottomed out that I know of in any of the places that puckered my ass before. Diablo sawzall blades are awesome

Are you talking about cutting off the front or the rear cups?

Rears, the control arms would hit the metal cup after the illicit no cut brackets. The fronts were cut off and replaced with the belltech stops when I did the initial lowering.

Whenever I install lowering kits on these trucks, I just remove the rear cups and bumpstops all together. Your factory upper control arm mount will hit the frame before your axle hits the frame with the rear bumpstops completely removed, so there isnt really a need to mount a bumpstop once the cups are removed.

I totally agree with removing them all together that’s how I have mine and live in Michigan and if anyone has ever driven here then you know what the potholes are like and I have never bottomed out but I do only have the Bell tech 2/4 drop so it might be a little different with a 5/7

I finally got mine off a few days ago, so far no bottoming out on anything. Got a core 4x4 panhard bar coming to replace the spohn that started flexing in the center adjuster, hopefully that takes care of the wobble that showed up and I'll be good. Used diablo sawzall blades, worked really good.
