from what i've been reading lately......stay away from the eco diesel, way too many people having problems with them. FCA seesm to be pushing these things and the R&D and real worl testing wasnt thorough enough.
I also have no idea why people want an ED. Yes you get 50-60% better mpg's, but for the $3000 price tag, thats gonna take you ( depending on how much you drive ), 3-6 years just to break even. The HP rating is less than the hemi, and the tourque is almsot the same.....what the hell is the point.....mpg's only? Seriously, i dont get why the ED motor is even made. I can see if it had 30-50 more ftlbs of tourque for better towing and the added mpg's, but it doesnt. I thought i actually read that the ED towing is rated slightly less than the hemi trucks with 3.92's.
Then there is the added cost to maintanence of that motor over its life. Unless you really have a need for it, buy a hemi. Much better bang for the buck, plus, the hemi moves, especially if you get the 3.92 rear.
Go full diesel or go home....or go hemi
Just my 2 cents.....
