Turns out my truck was indeed impacted by the faulty break pedal and it was quickly fixed. For that I am grateful. Unfortunately, this makes two recalls - and one check engine light in the first five months of ownership. I love the truck, but FCA needs to find a way to improve reliability - in the past, these problems were persistent enough to keep me from buying Dodge/RAM trucks. It begs the question, how much better would the RAM be doing if the guys could get it right at the factory BEFORE they sell it to you or me.

I am a fan - love the truck - and am hoping that this is the last issue I have to deal with.

Is there a brand out there that doesn't have reliability problems? Doesn't matter what truck you purchase with new technology, if the manufacturer waited until all the bugs were worked out before releasing to the public, we'd all be buying 4 year old technology trucks. The only way to beat the competition is to release it first. If they sell enough, then the cost of de-bugging it later is worth hassle. I'm not saying I agree with that idea, but seems that's the modus operandi. Let the public be the beta testers.

My cousin's 2017 Silverado has had half a dozen recalls( so far) and my neighbor's 2018 F150 has spent more time in the shop than his driveway... and neither of those is a new model year.
Just sayin'

You can be the beta tester - I am not interested in paying $72k for that job.

Looks like I triggered a bunch of fanboys with this post - disappointing - if we - the owners - don't call out RAM for this stuff who will?

Unfortunately if you buy the first model year of a vehicle you're pretty much guaranteed at least a few recalls. Seems to be a fact of life regardless of what you buy be it a Ram, a Ford, Chevy, or whatever. Can be said for pretty much anything highly technical, pretty much nothing is sold without requiring updates to fix issues post release, be that cars, cell phones, computer software, hardware, hell coffee machines probably require firmware updates now a days. As a humorous aside, the F22 costs 215 million per plane and the first time they flew it across the international date line the computers all crashed.

I’ll chime in. ;). I think your expectations are unrealistic. Any company that brings a product to market can only do so much testing. While we don’t know the numbers of how many trucks were on the street for testing before they hit the market, how many would it take for these problems to actually be found? A hundred? A thousand? Ten thousand? Who knows and who knows if these problems would have arrived during that testing even at unrealistic numbers. And then you have the manufacturing aspect, different suppliers, employees, etc.

Ram has however recognized and issued repairs, what more can you realistically expect out of a product / manufacturer at any cost? Can you actually cite a vehicle, at any cost, that was perfect the day it was released? I’d be surprised if you could.

I have a 2019 Ram Rebel 12. I love it. since the brake recall came out the dealer keeps saying they don't have the parts to do the repair. It's getting very long winded. I've had four Toyota 4x4's not one day in the shop for all four. My wife has also had four Toyotas. Not a single day in the shop. I hope my brakes are fixed quickly.

Never took your Toyotas in for their recalls? There are 4.5 million of them that have had recalls, including Tundras .

13 recalls and counting on my 2014 2500. There have been no problems with the truck as it has been great but all those damn recalls.

I’m actually going in Wednesday for that and the steering cable recall and an oil change. Just like my last vehicles, schedule an oil change, have them do their fixes while you enjoy their coffee.

When I had mine done it took them 30 mins from start to finish. It took them longer to change the oil lol. They said all they had to do is put a jamb nut on it.
