I picked up a 1975 Dodge W100 Last year. Great truck best 650 bucks i have spent, but as with all good things there are down sides. I need to swap gears from one axle to another as the studs on the pumpkin got broke off (prior to me owning it) and can not be fixed or replaced. I have 3.92s in it right now and could use any information on how to swap gears as i have never done it. What parts will i need? What gear oil weight should i run? how do i effectively swap them? can i swap just the pumpkins, if so how do i separate the axle tubes?

Any information would be grateful at this point as i am tackling this project alone and in the dark.

Welcome!

Wrong section, but a Mod can help that out.

As for the gears, What exactly broke? Just changing gears is a simple job, but it'll take a while. Swapping a pumpkin out is pretty labor intensive. It might just be a better option to track down a new axle, clean it up and install that.
