Hey guys wanted to tap into your knowledge base. My warlock was struck on the passenger fender/door/wheel area, not a huge impact. They fixed everything, but my wife says she hears grinding in the steering. I am down with this Hip replacement or I could check it out. The shop is top tier and sent the truck out for a new wheel, Rt. front Susp. hub & bearing, Rt front Susp Steering knuckle, and an alignment.
I did hobble out to the garage and with the truck running and Betty moving the steering you can hear a grinding noise .
Any thoughts by all the Detectives out there??

I agree with bringing it back to the shop. My guess is a wheel bearing or the steering rack.

If it makes a grinding noise when the trucks not moving and just the steering wheel is being turned,it's probably something in the rack itself Dave.If you were healthy i'd say jack it up till the front tires are off the ground and have your better half turn the steering wheel while you listened, but you're not really in the shape to do that right now,so i think you'll have to go back to the shop who did the repairs and let them see if they can isolate the noise/issue

Mine did something like that. From the inside, it sounded just like something plastic was lightly rubbing inside the steering column when i turned the steering wheel. Audible, but not quite annoying.

But if you crawled under the front end of the truck and had someone inside turn the steering wheel back and forth, it sound alot lke a cat that got hung up in a weedwhacker. A torn rubber boot let snow and water get into the ball nut and screw. Rust and bearings don't do well together.

$2k and a week of internet searching later, I had a new Mopar rack and pinion installed and it was quiet again.
