Just came across this while watching video's of the RB1 on youtube, I was thinking about getting the RB1 for my 02 QC 1500 and happend to see this. I never knew anyone made an aftermarket unit that would fit the stock opening perfectly like that. It says it's made specifically for the Jeep but I thought this would be the same in my Ram.

Check it out:

I would try that aftermarket unit instead of the RB1. I had the RB1 in my old truck and it was ok but it wasn't touch screen and the graphics are very out dated.

I know... I'm thinking that unit would be pretty cool. It's only $385 before tax and shipping and from what I can tell from the video's it looks pretty good. You can easily change the code in it so that when it turns on it will show a rams head instead of the jeep logo. Only thing Im worried about is it says that it's compatible with 2004 Ram but I didn't think their was any differences between the 02-04? do you know?

That is cool, didn't know something like that existed. I wouldn't think there would be much differnce between an 02 and an 04 radio, not 100% sure tho. I have an 05 and can post pics of it if that'd help to compare yours to.

I think the shape of the unit is the same so I'm worried about fit. I'm more worried about connections or harnesses being different. I think I'm going to give it shot soon. I found a newer model that has updated software and uses tom tom navigation through SD card. I'm pretty excited about this, nice to know there is a plug and play option for this truck with a 100% stock look.

It should fit from the look of it. I did some checking and the Jeep uses the same basic model factory stereo as the Ram. This is a great find, this might change the route for upgrades I was gonna do.

Great, let me know what you think. My purchase has been put on hold for a while because of repairs again on the truck. I hope you like it, I'm still thinking that's the way to go.
