Has anyone upgraded the factory inverter?

So I tried to use my power inverter for the first time the other day to charge a new battery I bought. It wouldn't even run the battery charger without shutting off every 3 or 4 seconds. It was an EGO 56v charger that is supposed to draw 320 watts. I thought the factory inverter was supposed to be 400 watts output but apparently not.

Seems it would be easy enough to put an aftermarket slightly larger inverter under the seat and use the factory wiring. Just curious if anyone had already been there done that.

I see loads of 750w inverters on Amazon that are plenty compact enough to fit under the passenger sear. https://www.amazon.com/Invertertek-...3762&sprefix=750+watt+inverter,aps,101&sr=8-9

Stock inverter is only 150 watts !
Not sure where you got that information, but the AC outlets are rated at 400W. Who would design a system with outlets rated at 400 watts using a 150W inverter? Please provide your source if you read that somewhere.

The main problem with the stock inverter is that it has a square wave output instead of a pure sine wave. Lots of plug-in devices require a pure sine wave source. Make sure any inverter you upgrade to has a pure sine wave output.

The OP shows 2016. @mikeru you show 2020. Two different beasts!

150w is the 2018 down rating I believe.
Sorry, I didn't realize I had jumped to the 4th gen section. Apologies to all.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one challenged to keep the generations straight after hopping around here and there.

And don't forget my '21 Warlock is 150W unless they installed the incorrect cover.

Haha...right?

The Warlock is a 4th gen ram 1500. I'm curious about that though since the 2017 Rebel I used to own was rated at 300W. Maybe they use a different inverter for Canada. Or maybe the Classic 1500's were downgraded. It's fun to speculate. :p

Or alternatively if the Rebel is a larger inverter for more Rebel-ness?
