I bought a 2015 1500 ive have it a little over a month. I noticed that the headlights seem to dim quickly while i was driving. The first time i ignored it but the diming continued. I took it to my local dealership (the dealership i bought it from is about 2 hrs away) and when i went to set up the appointment i was told that it was nit goin to take more than 1 day to find the problem. So i set it up. The day of the appointment i dropped it off in the morning and when i got off of work i went to go check up on it and the same guy comes back telling me hes going to need 2 or more days with the truck. Being that it is my only transportation i told him to go get the truck since he told me it was not going to take more than 1 day to find the problem. So now im stuck. What should i do?

Some dealerships will give you a loaner while yours is in the shop. If that one won't, you may wanna find another. I've personally not encountered that problem and I've had two 4th gen Ram's. Sounds like an electrical problem to me. Could be as simple as a bad alternator or as significant as a bad current through the circuits.

No problem, that's why we're here. Keep us informed on what you find out, I'm sure someone out there is bound to experience the same thing.

Some do. They apply it towards the charge of the warranty repair. I got mine from the same place I take it to, but I've seen them loan out a car to a guy with out of state tags.

Well i talked to another dealerdhip and this guy said he does not see why it would take more than 1 day to find the problem. He said they dont have loaners at that location but they have a rental company but i was thinking it should be covered under my warranty, or am i wrong?

Yepp mine covered a rental truck for a week while my roof was repainted. Chrysler pays for it not the dealer.

so many crappy dealers around these days. i haven't ran into a loaner situation with my Dodge dealer yet but with the GM dealer i use if you need a loner they let you pick whatever you want off the lot

When I had my wife's car in for a warranty repair I was told they would only do a rental if the technician said the car shouldn't be driven until it was repaired.
Since her's was an axle the tech didn't want it driven so the dealership arranged the rental and all we had to do was pick it up and drop it off once the repair was done. We didn't have to do any of the arrangements for the rental at all.
Is the technician saying that the truck shouldn't be driven overnight because of the lights possibly failing or is it just going to take them longer to get to actually repairing it?

They are trying still trying to find the problem. They're saying they have not heard of one doing that. The guy said they are going to look for "updates" to see if that works.

In my opnion if they have your vehicle due to warranty issues you need to have a rental to drive if that means 1 day or 2 weeks you bought a new truck you need to be taken care of.
