My 14 cold start is 56. Runs around 52. Hit idle will come down to around 43. I don't let it idle there any more than it needs to. Low idle psi is an issue. Guys are running runs where they have their tuner bump up hot idle psi to account for this.

I had oil pressure so high on a small block chevy once,80 to 90 psi cold that I was concerned the seals were gonna pop out!

Oil pressure won't blow seals,as there's no seals in the oiling system.High crankcase pressures from blowby etc.,will blow seals though

My 4.7 with 433K on it now (did a manual pressure check) Idles with around 46 (sometimes to 60) PSI when cold and the lowest i’ve seen when it’s warm is 40. Pretty much (kinda) on par with my 3.6L V6 2019 300, with 25K on it, and on par with my 3.6L V6 2016 300 with 120K on it. I wish i checked the 4.7 before i did an engine flush, though.

Wouldn’t Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage condition those seals? or is that just a marketing gimmick?

The rear and front engine seals etc would be conditioned by the high mileage oil additives. I use high mileage oil in my 77 Chevy K10 and the seals have never leaked since truck was new.Well, the valve seals are a bit hard but it is a Chevy thing it seemsBut in my Ram I just use regular synthetic.

I blew the pinion seals on my Chevy because of clogged vent tubes pressurized the differential,,,and the seals were over 40 years old. lol

You said truck never over heated , I say if you numbers are right, it was overheating as that is the only thing that may change your mileage , and your ticking was thin oil from over hot motor. Check the temp sender.

I'll check into that. Thanks for the input.
