Hi everyone, I Just installed a 2" level from Hell Bent Steel and ran in to one problem. I could not get the ball joints on my upper control arms separated from the steering knuckle on both sides to save my life, I ended up having to use a pickle fork and I cracked the boots on both of them. Should I just run them until they die and not worry about it, or is there any thing I can do to help save them? If I dont do anything how long do you think i've got before they start giving me problems?

Other than that, installing the kit was cake and it turned out looking bad ass. I'll post pictures later if you guys want to see.

Thanks in advance guys!

I would try your local parts store, maybe in the help section they will have new boots.

Forgot to say. Its a 2011 1500 Outdoorsman crew cab, has anyone else ran in to this problem working on front suspension?

You hit the steering knuckle with a hammer? Mine just popped right out last time.

Wouldn't worry about the tears in the boot to much. Its going to shorten the life but thats all you can do now. Run them, then replace them. The uppers are not hard to change anyways. Generally when you buy them you can get the whole a-arm with joint in it for pretty cheap. And there super easy to change then.

You might get another 50,000 miles out of them, or they might get bad after one winter.
