The best way to get an idea on how to do this is to watch some videos on youtube, its very much worth it

I'll second what MegaMouseGW said, well done.
I too hated all that chrome and did mine last summer and I striped and reapplied a clear coat on the lenses, makes me smile every time I look at them.
