Not sure if I'm posting this in the right area but I need some ideas to help with a glare issue I have. My aftermarket Grill Guard is chrome and it just so happens to reflect light at my chrome side mirrors which intern reflect a blinding light right into my face as i drive at night. I'm tired of sitting awkwardly to have it out of my face. Any Ideas on what to do to fix this issue? here are some pics to show whats happening.

Tape the small parts of the grill (back) with black gorilla tape. You wont even see it and it will stop the glare.

I had thought of doing something to that effect but can't seem to find a way to "hide" the tape

I'm half tempted to just put a piece of tape over the chrome part of my mirror until summer comes rolling in. But I don't want the residue on the side mirror.

very true! That might ruin the chrome.

The other option I've tried and tend to do if I'm driving more than just a few miles is flip my mirror up into the tow position. I still get a glare but it's minor compared to when it's down. It's almost as bad as someone behind me with there brights on.

Thinking about it, It's gotta be the back side of the guard that is reflecting the light back... I would bet if you just taped the back edges (where its not to visible) it would get rid of most of the glare.
Or limo tint your windows lol

You could plastidip the grille gaurd or the mirror
The clear stuff would even give it a satin look that wouldn't be too noticeable and deflect the light elsewhere and wouldn't leave a residue if you wanted to remove it

I had thought about dipping it too.. I'd rather dip my mirrors, just the inside portion where it reflects black but, I honestly just want an easy fix for now lol. But perhaps beggars can't be choosers.

Loose the chrome mirror cover and go with painted color matched Sport mirrors

There the premium tow mirrors. It's not a cover it's the actual frame.

I'm with blue streak. I vote you either get the color matched mirrors or plastidip the chrome. With plastidip, just peel it off if you don't like it. If you take the mirrors off, just tape the actual glass up and spray away. If you leave it on the truck, tape the mirror glass and the body of the truck up good so you don't get any overspray anywhere.

I'm not going to replace my mirrors, I'd rather dip them then go though the cost of replacing especially seeing as the sports aren't the tow mirrors. I think I'll end up trying some tape on the back of the grill guard tonight. I'm just going to have to try and find something not overly adhesive.

I do put it in the tow position for long hauls right now. It looks weird if I leave them both up and I'm not towing. Apparently it's a trend down in the states in some places to have them up when your "trolling for ****" as many of my friends have so diligently noted. Their words not mine.

Yeah, you get a hard time for driving with them up with a trailer
They look especially silly up on 1/2 ton

I would try electrical tape, only problems with it or any tape will be cold temperatures not letting it adhere very well

I've got a garage so I was thinking electrical tape too. Wrap it around the whole bar section a few times then cut the extra off. Trying not to scratch the chrome of course lol.

I was going to suggest get a roll of automotive grade wrap off eBay. Preferably a matter color
