No they're not. I had them on my 2011 and compared to HID'S they weren't so good. They're better than stock but don't hold a candle to HID'S

If you don't want to spend the money on HIDs, you can change the bulbs out and get more light.

9011 - highs
9012 - fogs
H9 - lows

You will have to trim a small plastic tab on the bulb, but members are reporting very good output from those bulbs. I'm going to be doing my low's and fog's soon (hopefully).

HID over LED from everything i've read... check out Retro Shop in the vendor section, they seem to offer a good quality kit!

Neither. After reading the boatload of troubleshooting threads on HiD's I'm staying away (not because they can't be resolved, but because I haven't the time or inclination to troubleshoot them). To make matters worse I'm in Canada where DRL adds another annoyance to a vehicle that even JJ has said on this forum isn't as friendly for HiD's as others. Lastly unless it's purely for cosmetic reasons or because you just think they're cool, I don't actually need them.

yeah the stock lowbeams suck, but that's easily resolved by either using your hi beams or using lows plus fogs if you can't use high. I just installed some good aftermarket fogs on mine and crappy low beam problem solved. And I drive on unlit country highways all week. When there's too much oncoming traffic for hi beams, my fogs with lows works great with zero hassle.

But if you really want them for the cool factor, then yeah... go with HiD because those specialty bulbs are terrible. They cost a lot for 1 pair for bulbs that burn out after just a year.

im in canada as well, and my low beams even with fog lights on are still terrible and high beams are no hell either. the HIDs arent for any cool factor strictly wanting brighter lights cause i live in the country and most of my driving is on country roads. what bulbs were you saying burn out in a year?

Not trying to be a smart-ass, I'm just wondering if you might have night vision problems. If even high beams aren't helping you, it's possible you might need corrective lenses for night driving for your own safety. I'd definitely at least get tested, hids aren't going to be the most appropriate solution if that's the case.

My night vision has worsened the last couple of years, but so far I haven't had to get glasses for driving yet. But I know that day is approaching

Gotcha, user perception then I guess. I live and work in the sticks too and haven't had any complaints about highbeams. Also very happy with my fogs but they're mopar aftermarket, not stock
