Front heated seats show to be on but put off no heat. Fuse is good. Maybe I’m not waiting long enough to notice it but surely after 20 minutes…

Heated Seats will not work unless it is cold enough
same with steering wheel heat
The lights will illuminate if remote started then once started with the button, it’ll cut itself off after a couple of seconds if I press the button.

Could you please clarify the above statement?
When you remote start, the heated seat light illuminates.
Does the light stay on or go off after a couple of seconds?

In your first post, you suggest that the heated seats' lights stays on for 20 minutes; in your second post, they only stay illuminated for a few seconds.

Do they behave any differently after a remote start versus enabling them manually?

What is the outside ambient air temperature when they don't remain on?

Also, have you verified all of the fuses and relays in the TIPM are fully seated?

Our trucks are notorious for having the fuses work themselves loose and then the gremlins begin. This reseating action should be a regular maintenance function performed.

If I remote start the truck, the lights will stay illuminated until I hit the button to start the truck. At that point, the lights disengage shortly thereafter. No heat produced.

If I engage them manually after they’ve turned themselves off, the lights will stay on for the couple of seconds then turn off.

I didn’t try using them until temps dipped into the 30s. It’s currently forecasted to have 10” in the next 24 hours.

I’ve verified that fuse is intact and seated. Thought about swapping it for different 25 in the box and see if anything changes.

My drivers seat heater is doing the same thing. If I hit the button it stays lit up for a few seconds and turns off. Not sure if there is a short somewhere or what is happening

Anything below 35 degrees the seats and steering wheel will heat up. Make sure you don't have anything under your seat though.

I think some folks are making misleading statements. The AUTO seat heater function will turn the heated seat and steering wheel on if the temp is below 40F. The heated seat and steering wheel will come on anytime you turn them on manually. Your issue sounds like a malfunction in the seat heater circuit. Probe between the power to the seat heater and the return and check for resistance.

What am I looking for to ensure it’s right? Just make sure nothings obviously loose?

I had a 2013 Laramie, and I have a 2015 Longhorn, and I can tell you the heated seats don't work very well. Sometimes, they will warm up, but not every time. This has been a topic discussed since the new electrical architecture came out with the 2013 trucks. Some have different results, but both of my trucks sucked.

Now the 2022 is a different story; seats warm up quickly and every time.

Wish that helped me feel better

To tell the truth, i am still learning stuff about my 2016 Ram.

Like today, for the first time, i saw that while looking at my HVAC Controls
It has Rear HVAC
I have not playing with it, so i don't know what it does

I think you are referring to the center stack button with "rear" printed on it. That button turns on the rear window defrost and the heated outside mirrors, if equipped. Of the three RAM trucks I've owned, I have never seen controls for the rear seat HVAC. The rear console has controls for the rear heated/vented seats, if equipped.

Just a thought since the cooled seats are based on the AC temp set on the dash, is the technology specific enough on the seat warmers to heat based on the temp setting on the dash too or is it still just an on/off state of operation?

Manual operation just on/off. Auto operation goes by outside ambient temp below 40 degrees which will turn on seat/steering wheel/side mirror defroster's if equipped.
Auto mode only works also if enabled in U Connect Settings.

Look under front pax seat. Check make sure all wiring seated properly. That is unit for heated seats not know if it controls steering wheel also.
