Hello All,

Just purchased my first Dodge Truck, shes an 2005 SLT 1500 4x4 with the 4.7 with less than 100k. Super good condition. Gotta say I love driving this thing its a major upgrade from my Tacoma I just sold. I did have some trouble with it right after I pulled her into my driveway.

The water pump was shot, thermostat, and rad cap was leaking. I replaced all those parts then read something about the 4.7's having head problems if they have overheated so I ran a compression test and pressure checked the cooling system both check good. Still overheats on a hot day only when stopped and usually only let it get a little over half. When I turn he heater on temp goes back down quickly. So I just ordered a new fan clutch as well. Praying that's all that's wrong.

Welcome and congrats fellow Floridian. Those are some low miles for that year, good find. I hope that fan clutch does the trick, heat is on its way!
