Hi everyone,

My name is Tura, I’m from Germany, and I’m hoping someone here can help me out.

I own a 2016 Dodge RAM 1500 5.7 Hemi, and I’m currently having an issue with the windshield wipers. The wiper motor is confirmed to be working, but the wipers themselves do not operate.

I’m getting a B2303-13 “Circuit Open” error code.

Here’s what has already been done:

  • Swapped the BCM module
  • Checked all fuses
  • Replaced the wiper arm
  • Replaced the fuse box

When I activate the wiper switch, I can hear a click coming from the fuse box, but the wipers still don’t move at all.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what else I can check? Any help is greatly appreciated!

The Signal Light Switch is also known as the

Multifunction Switch

It controls the Signal Lights, the Windshield Wipers, the High Low Beam Headlights, & the Windshield Washer Spray

They are pretty simple to replace
You will find several YouTube Videos on this subject

Welcome!

Given the same problem on my truck, I would buy a scanner that had the ability to live monitor and be able to command circuits. It is the simplest way to find out what is stopping the wipers from functioning. Firing the parts cannon is expensive and usually doesn't fix anything but to empty your wallet. Replacing a BCM with reprogramming had to set you back $1500 or more US dollars; the fuse box probably wasn't far behind. You can get a nice scanner with live data for much less.

The B2303-13 “Circuit Open” DTC code typically means the MOSFET transistor that feeds power to the wiper motor is not seeing a load, which likely means the wire carrying power to the wiper motor has been disrupted. I do not have a schematic of the wiper circuit for your model year, but the click you hear is likely not related to the wiper circuit but to another unrelated circuit. Measure the voltage on the wiper motor and see if you are getting power. If not, and that is what I expect, do a continuity trace of the power wire from the wiper motor back to the power source. If you are seeing voltage, then you may have a ground issue. Trace the ground wire back,

Thank you.

Thank you very much for your message. I have both the AlfaOBD and a diagnostic scanner for Chrysler/Dodge/GM. I’m not sure if these functions are available with them.

Where could I find a wiring diagram?

Here is a PDF of the factory service manual wiring diagram for B2303-13 and the OEM Diagnostic steps.

Thank you very much!!
No problem. Read the diagnostic steps for the B2303-13 DTC and follow each step to the best of your abilities and to the best of your scan tools abilities and you will find the issue.
