Help 730 RER Update

I have a 2011 1500Crew that I installed the 730 RER radio in to replace my 430. I bought this unit from BloomBloom88 on this site and he bought it from someone else on this site. Because the radio is installed in my truck there is no available update available when I enter my VIN number. I assume that this is because Ram doesn't recognize my VIN as having this stereo as an option.

How do I go about getting the software for the upgrade?

Will this also update the maps?

Do you have to pay for the Navteq upgrade each year you wish to update?

I am also replacing the stock 6 speaker system with new Alpine Components in the front and Alpine coaxials in the rear. I also have a JL Audio Stealthbox for some bottom end. I also have an Alpine 5 channel amp to run everything. I want to install an LOC and intercept the speaker wires to the doors as I am not worried about the losses I will have due to the inferior wiring. Can this be intercepted behind the head unit or does the output go to a separate amp location?

I can only answer a few parts of your questions.

On the jeep forums there is a member who has the software update for that radio. The latest update is 2.4 or something along those lines. I don't know where it is at currently and I will try to help you find it. If you google 730N software update I'll bet you will run right across it.

The software update can be downloaded to a DVD and installed. Same for the grace notes.

The maps can only be updated by purchasing a CD from Nav Tech to the tune of $149. I don't know of anyone who has done it. Most are hesitant because we don't know exactly when they last updated their maps.

You need the dealer to flash the radio sales code RER to be added in your vin. Or you can do it yourself for free just go here http://www.mydrive.ch/browse#/. Please do not modify (delete files or folders) anything to this website as the person who made it available is a really nice guy sharing this stuff to all of us here for free ok? Dont believe the stealership that it cant be done because the radio was from another truck ******** story as its is not attached to it whatsoever from the old truck or car it belonged to originally. That way when you enter the uconnect website it will be fine for the vin check. As for the maps I dont have a clue when is the exact date they updated it. I did this myself aswell like trupiano and it works!!!
