I have a 2013 Sport crew cab with the Apline system and factory sub. I want to upgrade the sub system so I can feel the bass, but I DONT want to go old school and rattle the entire block. I also want to retain the fold flat floor (FFF).

My first attempt was to replace the factory 8" sub with the PIONEER TS-SW2002D2 8" as recommend by another member on here. The improvement wasn’t worth the $60 I spent. The “improved” bass was barely noticeable with the radio cranked. It almost sounded worse with the radio at normal volume.

My local audio shop quoted me $1200 for a full setup with two 10” under the rear seat, plus I would have to lose the FFF. Like I said, I want to retain the FFF. The only box I can find that fits under the back seat that would keep the FFF is almost $1000 (and that just for the box).

I have read a lot of posts about the Kicker Hideaway, and I have a couple questions:

1. Would this give me the bass improvement I’m looking for (my audio shop told me it would NOT)?
2. If I install the Kicker Hideway, would the factor sub also operate, hence I would have two subs?
3. Is it possible to install two Kicker Hideways – one under each front seat, driver and passenger?

Sorry if these questions are amateur. I’m a newbie to the audio scene and trying to learn.
).

One hideaway I don't think would give you enough of that feel, two might. Your biggest issue is going to be the FFF from what I understand most boxes take up the space that mounts too.
Now you could build a box yourself or loose the FFF and get a foxbox for a ton less that 1K. Lots of options but it all comes down to what you wanna give up and how much work you can do yourself.

I don't want to loose the fff, but I'll give it up if I have to. The problem is I don't have any idea what I would need and/or how to install a amp, sub setup myself. And my local shop said the $1200 option was the only setup the could do for me.
I have read some forums on installs, but I don't understand most of the audio lingo they use.
I have very basic audio knowledge. I did one head unit and sub/amp install about 20 yrs ago in my awesome 1993 Honda accord lol

Ok having a pro to do it is very understandable if I was any busier than I am now I would be doing that also, but for a shop to say there is only one option is saying to me that they are just trying to make the most money on you that they can, which usually means the products that get the most commission on and not exactly what will be the best equipment for your money.

What setup would u recommend to get the best bang for my buck, without breaking the bank...ie, what box, subs, amp, other parts would I need. Basically a shopping list. I could buy everything and just have the shop do the install.

What did the shop recommend if you don't mind sharing? The other thing is they might charge you an arm and a leg to install someone else's products.

They didn't tell me what specif parts other than I think a fox box and JL 10" subs. They said I would need an amp and line converter but didn't say what brand, model etc.

My guess for 1200 it was W0's but that's just a guess and probably a JL JX 500.1 with a PAC or Metra LOC. Definitely not a bad equipment but if I'm guessing right it is JL's budget line. You could go on sonicelextronix.com and piece together a system. Personally I would have them demo the gear that you would be buying from them and then break down the costs.

so would it be better to go with the professional install, or pay have the price and run two kicker hideaways? And if I run two kicker hideaways, with the factory stub still work (in theory giving me three running subs in the vehicle)?

I think you would get more out of the professional install. As good as the Hideaway's are they just don't produce that deep gut wrnching bass that some people want every once and awhile.
