Did you? Was I driving like my normal idiot self? Oh wait it was raining I think the last day I drove the truck, so you must have seen the calm Sam? :D
yea it was raining. it was right by lincoln square. u were at the light and i was going the other way
I didn't mean to ruffle feathers, it's not a bad cam. We've put more than one Hemi truck on the track though and they weren't running this cam. A lot of people do like the sidewinder though. I guess I should have said that if I were going to do a cam swap I'd go a little more aggressive.

My point is that it's not very aggressive and doesn't require a custom tune. Although not recommended, I've seen this cam run fine on a stock PCM tune was the point I was trying to bring across.

Is a boy I work with at the dealership runs a Comp 260 in his truck, very similar cam with only a superchips and I think it's even the older one that you can't update on the internet and he runs fine.

Anyway, Silverbullet08, if you come to a stop and brake with your left foot and kept giving it a little gas with your right foot, no problems? How high do you have to keep idle before it stalls? Will it still stall if your A/C is on?
there are lots of guys running the sidewinder on custom tuning. some having the same issues as mine. yes the plan was for it to work with my superchips which is why i chose the sidewinder. but that doesnt look like it will be the case does it?
anyways yes ive been two footing for the last couple weeks. keeping the rpms around 600-800. ac does nothing for it. two footing also give the pcm fits...
What is that supposed to mean? Lol
the needle is going crazy. like back and forth really fast....

Impressive graphs. That last set shows huge gains with psc tune. Wonder how much more a custom delivers.

It will, bump the idle up to about 8-850 and the tire size and see what it does. Then worry about the other things the dsp can do

Tonight is the night then? Hoping for you that everything goes smooth with the trade and ability to custom tune the truck.

tire size?

Yeas tire size, that would be the only other adjustment I would make on your first startup with the idle raised. You gotta be able to drive the speed limit...errr... close to the speed limit right? I think it auto defaults to 31.5" tall tire unless you tell it otherwise, at least that is what mine tells me whenever I readjust or reload the tune.

ALSO, be sure you download the DSDL and the Data viewer too. And see if the DSP the guy is trading you comes with the usb cable and power adapter (otherwise you need to go pick those up) and make sure it is on the latest revision, 9r09 CROM. If it is on 9r06 you wont have trans control, same with the 9r07. The 9r08 fixed it for the most part and the 9r09 is a little better yet tune wise.

You may also need to load the DCX Calibration update as well but it will prompt you for that so just be sure that you have the DSDL and the cables ready to go.

And one last thing, since yours is an 05', before you plug the tuner in to the OBDII port, turn the key to the on position (not starting it) with mine and a bunch of other 05's if you do not do this step first it wont read the TCM. On the initial tune it will normally see it but if you go in to make any revisions or adjust anything and you dont do that it will sometimes not read the TCM. So to be safe, be sure the key is in the on possition before anything gets plugged in.

And after you load it, go to the tools menu and show calibration ID and it will give you a pcm code and a tcm code, if it doesn't you need to rest the truck to stock and try it again. Also check this before you return the truck to stock for any reason or it will keep diablos tune loaded as your new "stock" tcm file (I did that once)
