What's up guys have a 2010 ram cc with the stock 6 speaker audio and touchscreen rbz radio. Trying to plan out my build. I have a set of focal 6.5 components and a jl audio 4 channel amp to power the mids and highs. Going to pick up a decent set of jl 6.5 coaxial speakers for the rear. Now should I eliminate the dash speakers and run the tweeters there or upgrade them aswell? And as far as the sub goes it will more then likely be a jl 12in w6 in a ported foxbox with the appropriate power. And also should I run a sound processor? Is it really worth the extra money?

Every system is different and very subjective but I'll give you my opinion as I'm doing a similar build right now.

If you are after best possible sound don't bother upgrading rear speakers, put that money towards a processor. You want to build the best front stage you can. Keep stock rear speakers in and fade to back for a little fill only when you have passengers back there and the music is too quiet for them.

Eliminate the dash speakers as they are full range signal running to a very small speaker so the mids to low end distort quick as you turn them up. You also end up dealing with sound reflections off the glass because of how they sit.

Without a DSP you would have to run a passive system using crossovers so there's less control there than if you run them active with a DSP controlling it all. You also get a lot of other fun controls to play with like Time Dilation and individual speaker EQ'S.

This is of course just my opinion and I'm sure you'll get a few ;)

I am running (or will be once they are in tonight) a set of Morel Components and 2 Image Dynamics 10" subs with control coming from a Bit Ten Processor.

I have run a good set of components and 2 10s in a 2004 Ram QC and there was more than enough sound to fill that cab and sound great.

Awesome thanks man. That's the processor I was looking at the bit 10. If you don't mind me asking what's the cheapest you found it for? And also doesn't jl audio make a sound processor? I ask because I can get jl a little over wholesale through my work and would help the wallet lol.

JL has a device called "Cleansweep" but I wouldn't call it a processor. Unless I'm mistaken I think that all it does is remove any equalization from the stock head unit. More of a fancy line out converter.

I did a fair bit of research on DSPs before going with the Bit Ten D and for me it came down to this or Helix. Part of me wishes I went for the Bit One though just because of the option to go to a 3-way active down the road if I get brave enough to get into that.

There's a lot of good reviews on JBLs MS8 as well but it's a very limited processor in terms of the controls you have. Most people that get into it end up upgrading to a more flexible one later.

A good place to find a processor or most high end audio gear is the classifieds section at diyma.com

I paid $400 I think for a used Bit Ten D.

Helix Pro Hands down. 10 channels and it's the best DSP on the market currently. Email my buddy James at [email protected] he is a dealer and best pricing. I installed and even have my rear 6x9s running active. You will have infinite control. Also they just released the new remote for it as well. James is also a JL audio and hybrid audio dealer. I bought all hybrid audio speakers and JL amps as well as 12" tw3 sub. I used a net audio sub enclosure sealed. Killer system. Knukonceptz for wire and misc parts. Good luck
