Hello Everyone!

Looking for aa little help. Been to two mechanics and are having a problem finding the problem.

I own a 2014 5.7 1500 Sport

Problem: Drive side Front Window switches (Driver/Passanger windows), Mirror and Power Locks do not work. But the Back window swithces work no problem. Passanger side switches OK, rear switches are OK.

Solutions so far: We have replaced the driver switch panel twice now (Mopar (68620448AA)) - Works fine for about a week (tested and cleard by mechanic and worked fine taking home), then out of no where, just stops working. One time stopped after I rolled up the driver window, other time on morning start. First mechanic changed the panel - worked for about a week. Second mechanic (same shop, different guy) changed the switch again and check the door, boot and traced the line to the BCU, no obvious grounding or broken wires - worked fine for 3 days. All pins in the switch were confimred working and wires were checked for voltage - all seemed fined according to mechanic.

Basically, i've been told there is not much they can do without tearing out the dash and doing a detialed inspection.

I guess what i am wondering here is
1) is there a chance i've had three faulty door switches that all fail the same way?
2) Is is a common issue anyone else has had, and found a solution?
3) does this sound like a ground fault in the line, which is blowing the switch?
4) On the back of the door switch, there is two connectors, one large and one small. Does anyone know what controls what? I am assuming the larger is the front windows, mirrors and door locks. i'm not very good at reading wire diagrams.
5) Do i bite the bullet and take it to the dealership to look into?

Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Electrical problems are always a PITA:boxed: and I believe this was an issue for some 2014's.

I do have a few ideas though,

- See if you can clear all of your codes, especially if there are any in the BCM; if there is a fault, clearing it may fix the issue.

You can do this yourself at home:
Note: This will also clear saved data as well; such as radio stations and seat positions.
1. Disconnect both battery cables from the terminals.
2. Put a piece of cardboard or a newspaper over the battery to isolate it in case the cables accidentally touch the terminals
3. Get a jumper cable set
4. Connect one end of the *BLACK jumper to the end of the Positive (+) battery cable; and then connect the other end of the same *BLACK jumper to the end of the Negative (-) battery cable.
*Only use one cable from the set, if you choose black; use both ends of the black and leave the reds aside or vice versa otherwise there wont be a closed loop*
[See caveman drawing below]
5. Wait 10 minutes and then disconnect the jumper cable and set them aside.
6. Reconnect your battery cables to the correct terminals.
7. You will hear everything powering back up and your fault and stored fault codes will be cleared.

If the codes have been cleared and the problem is still there, see if you know anyone with access to Alfa OBD, you can do a thorough scan and even go through the door module and test each circuit one by one.

- It could also be a bad door module (not the switch panel) It is a smaller black box mounted on the door with a couple of plugs going into it; see if all the plugs are seated properly and also not moist or dirty.
[Taking the door panel off is super easy and can be done in about 5 mins, which will give you access to everything]

The Main BCM most likely isn't the culprit as you would have other random symptoms as well like having the radio changing, horn going off, or worse.

You can also check the fuse panels and replace any fuses related to the problem, even if they seem ok. There is one fuse box under the hood and one on the side of the dash when you open the drivers door.

I hope this can help you in some way!

So you were right! Driver side door module was throwing a code. They just replaced the door module but now i'm left with another issue LOL...

They are unable to reprogramm the new module, so i have a new error code "Mismatch ID". Windows work again "for now" they said, and will Likely stop wortking unless i reprogam the module soon. Do you know if AlphaOBD can reprogram this?

Thank you again for your help!

Awesome, I'm glad I could help!

I ran through Alfa, and the only thing I could find is -- Cabin Net-DDM Driver Door Module with the options to Enable or Disable.

Maybe you could try to Enable it. Or if it is already Enabled; Disable it then Re-Enable it? That may force it to talk to the BCM.

The battery trick I mentioned above will also clear the codes which may also fix the issue.

Ill keep digging and see what I can come up with

So i had my shop disable and re-enable the "Cabin Net-DDM Driver Door Module" as suggetsed. Unfortunatyl, it's still throwing the Mismatch ID error, so it looks like have to take it into the dealer to get re-programmed.

Thank you again for all your help!

And the struggle continues.

Dealer is "unable to reprogram" the Driver door module - this is a plug and play module, there is no re-programming available.

Now Dodge is getting the same original code from my mechanic, which is a signal failure from the switches to the module. This was the original code we were getting on the switches that was flipped out (3 of them), and then went to the door module as you suggested. Since we’ve replaced the door switches 3 times, Dodge is now suggesting i replace the entire door wire harness from the module to the switches. Thinking it’s some sort of grounding issue, but they did not investigate any further then running a Diagnostic Tool and giving me the failure codes, since the previous work was under warrantee. good news was, it was at least free of charge AND they did three recalls while there LOL.

Good news is, my original independent mechanic said he will re-look at all the wiring for free (under warrantee) and there are plenty of door harnesses at the junk yard we can throw in to see if it works.

Thanks again for your help and interest in this, I'll report back ASAP.

Its awesome that you got your recalls done also lol. Hopefully your mechanic can get to the bottom of it or get a harness.

I think you could also wire direct to the window motors with a separate switch until you get it fixed; Actually I wonder if there's a way to bypass the module and go direct with the factory switch. . .
