And to add, don't believe the sales folks when they try to tell you that a little 1500 will tow a 12,000lb TT. They either 1) know nothing about towing or 2) just want to make a sale

Im just bit northeast of you in Nevada. few hill get LA/OC. other state are not 55 mph and most peple pull 65/70 mph,
l think if your 8500 lbs or less 6.4 gas w 8sp an 4.10 in 3/4 ton will work well, 8500 to 12.000 lbs be ok and at 12.000 need to look at diesel. (but i dont like diesel)
