Hey,

So in a very conflicting spot of how I go about getting bigger tires on 2017 Ram Rebel. I've emailed a couple of shops and they have all told me different things and have gave all different advice, price, etc..
But I feel like this forum will be the best help.

My goal is getting 35s on my Ram Rebel with it being stock or putting on a level (People have been telling me about Front End Lift Links). I would like to do a 35x12.5x20 BFG K02 tires with Rockstar 2 Rims 20x12 and I would like to get a -44 offset. I really want that wide looks and for the tire to be sticking out.

So is this possible to do?
I've been told YES because of the deep and wide wheel well. Also to put on Lift Links to help out the front but I have't gotten any advice on Lift Links. I'm also okay with rubbing if its a full lock turn too. Just would like to know if this possible. My only big concern is that I don't want my overall height to increase much because my garage door is low and I only have a couple of inches of play.

Very open to suggestions about what to do and how to approach this!

Thanks,
Simon

Hmmm. I didnt think the wheel wells were any different than any other 4th gen. I can tell you this I had basically the same exact set up -44 offset too. They would rub the pinch weld very little when turning. I trimmed those and for the most part it fixed it unless I was turning and the wheel was up like turning I to my driveway. Then it would rub again.

You can fit 35's with a level, i just don't know much about 20" wheels and 12" wide wheels with -44 offset.
Per this table that wheel will have somewhere between 4.5 and 4.75" backspace which might be ok depending on lift and alignment (i run 4.5" backspace or -12offset but the wheel is narrower being 17x9 and i've fitted 37x12.5x17 with about 2.75" front lift and only 1" in the back), i had zero issues with 315/70/17 on the same wheel at 2" front lift.

But a 35x12.5x20 should only be mounted on 11" wide wheel tops ? you'll be strecthing them out with a 12" witdh wheel so i guess you should be looking into 35x13.5x20, and i know not all manufacturers allow more than 11" wide wheels even for their 35x13.5x20 tires.

Check with the tire manufacturer if the tire you want to run can run with 12" wide wheels.

Mine are 35x12.5x20 mounted on 20x12. No issue with tire at all. Just gotta be careful of curbs. Lol

I put a lift on right after. And replace the running boards with stealth auto retracting ones. 632f8a0ed34959e35f2f302324a0d415.jpg

That is clean!! Very nice.

But yeah without the lift you had no problems other then the slight rub when you had the 35's on the stock height?

I could see you clearing a 35” tire with minimal lift if you were using close to factory offset wheels. But with a wide wheel like you are after, I think you are gonna rub like crazy. Hell, I am pretty positive they would rub even with a 6” lift.

With minimal lift, you are gonna need some serious trimming to clear a 35 on a super wide wheel like that.

You can clear 35s on a 12 wide @ 4" on a normal ram I'm positive of.and the fact it's a rebel I would bet you could clear it on a 3" level since you have extra clearance from the bumper.

Yea the bumper may offer more clearance, but there is no getting away from the back sides of the front fenders. Wide wheels will turn right into that area.

My power wagon sits about as high as a 4-6” lifted half ton. I have 35’s on stock wheels and they damn near rub that area. If they were offset wheels, it would rub like crazy.

Not that it cant be trimmed. Im just saying, there is no way to run that wide of a wheel without an issue turning unless you trim. Or lift it.
