There are so many threads about foggy backup cameras, installing backup cameras on trucks that didn't originally come with them, replacing the entire camera/tailgate handle, etc... that I find myself confused and could use some help.

I have a hazy backup camera on my 2015 1500 Express and I would like to just replace the camera. I can handle taking the access panel off the tailgate and replacing it myself if it's plug and play. What replacement camera will get me there? For ease of installation and price, is this what I want?

TIA

I have a '16 1500 Sport and mine fogged up as well. The one you have listed is the one I bought and it was a direct fit. Plug and play, and the install was fairly quick.

Is it good quality video?

Like brand new. I had gone about 3 months with the old one and couldn't really see much of anything because of the condensation, but I am very pleased with the replacement. Mine is a Mopar replacement, but the PN is the same.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm gonna open my tailgate access hatch and make sure everything looks kosher, and if it does, I'll probably go with that then.

The only thing about getting it in there is the small screws for the camera. The one closest to the tailgate handle (I think) required this cool little balancing act to get it started. But, I mean it when I say it was an easy install. Think optimistically and order that thing. You'll be glad that you did the first time you put it in reverse.

Just installed a brand new backup camera from the dealer. Blue screen.
