Hey guys,
I have searched high and low for the answers and can't seem to find any. I have a 2017 Ram 1500 Crew Cab with the fold out rear floors. I want to remove the fold out floors and install a box under the rear seat. I ideally would like to have (2) 12" subwoofers - standard mount (not shallow). I plan on using either the Infinity Kappa 1200w or the Rockford Fosgate Power T1 subwoofers and power them with a Sound Digital 600.1d series amp. I've been looking for a box to go under the seat but can't seem to find any that'll work. I have my local audio shop looking at FoxBox and QPower but they are taking forever to be delivered. Any suggestions on box and/or any input on the Subwoofer/Amp set-up? Here are the links to the Subs and Amp for specs. I have no idea what i'mm looking at as far as how much volume is needed for each sub, needed wattage etc.. I listen to a very wide variety of music - Jazz, Country, R&B, Hard Rock and listen to it all LOUD. Any input is greatly appreciated - thanks everyone. I LOVE this Forum!!

The subs you are loooking at require 1.25 cubic feet of air space in a sealed box. Most boxes that are made for under the seats of a RAM are going to be around .7 cubic feet. This would be absolute minimum. With the little air space given, sub specs and power wanted, it could be somewhat overpowering.
Are you looking for volume, sound quality or a decent balance of both? Me personally, would go with a dual 10" and a hefty sub. Most 10s require a foot or less of air space and will give you a better sound quality balance while maintaining good soundstage. Especially if you are not upgrading and amping your full range speakers (doors).
There are boxes for both sizes available on Amazon, some are loaded and some are not. Most are around the .69 CF size.
Should be a good sounding system once installed.
Keep us informed.
Here is one example (I would contact seller to verify specs as there is conflicting information in the listing)

Yeah, not many 12" subs will work well in that small of an enclosure. I'd considered two 10's as mentioned. The JL Audio 12TW1 will work in that small of a space, but it is a shallow mount of sorts, and not really a high power handling monster. I'm going to be running a single 12TW1 in one of their powered enclosures in my single cab. I haven't completed the install, so I cannot comment on how much output you can get out of them.

I'm hitting 147db with my pair - so plenty lol but if you're looking to rattle windows and bolts then you'll need more excursion and more POWA!! Hard to do short of installing a wall.

Wow, that's shockingly loud. I'd be good if I got to 115-120.

What subs/amp and box are you using? Sounds exactly like what I want - loud and clear!

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I am switching the rest of the speakers out and replacing them with Ground Zero RC 165.2 components and powering them with a Sound Digital 800.4s EVO

Running the JL Twin 10TW1 Stealthbox and a Kenwood X502-1.

The rest of the system comprises of JBL GX9638s in the doors and Infinity Kappa 300m's in the dash corners ran off an AC D6.1200. The center dash is an Infinity and ceiling speakers Massive Audio, they run off the HU power.

EDIT: The center and ceiling speakers run off the factory Alpine amp, not the HU.

I run a JL12TW3 with Boston passive radiator powered by a T750 Fosgate.

Customized prefab dual 12 box, both have 2-3” of peak to peak excursion.

Bet that's another winning combo! These TW series subs from JL really are pretty shocking. Wouldn't expect what I got from them that's for sure.

Yeah JL really optimized the internal coil/ magnet motor design. Wish I had the airspace for 2, had to use a 3/4” mdf ring and shim the seats 1/2” so the toddler seats don’t rub the surround :D Heavy weight in the radiator really emphasizes the low lows.
