Double check but I didnt think the 2018 had the rare shaft, but it looks like they do. That part is not supported by any oem aftermarket supply chains sadly, and there is like one dude on the planet that makes it, and he charges a small fortune. Here it is, research and see if you can find it cheaper, unless something has changed, this dude is it $525 Canadian. Secondly, If I had one of these on my truck I would be looking at junk yards just to get one and sit on it in case, for the future.

Maybe Benny can answer, and if not maybe he can fix that. Sad deal ram forum guys have been spending 500 bucks now and up to 1800 bucks at first back in 2012, for a shaft that should cost 50 bucks.

I don't believe you can get the intermediate shaft for the passengers side from Mopar, but Benny would have to confirm that.

These guys sell one they make in house with a seal kit that helps keep the dirt and water out of the splines so you wont have to replace it again:

@BadDog777, sorry if I missed it, but did the splines wallow out on the original? I haven't heard of this happening on one as new as a 2018 yet. I have heard of it happening on older 4th gens and 3rd gens.

I believe the dealer fix is to replace the whole carrier assembly and call it a day.
