I have a 2001 sport ...my ac didn't work I added Freon and the compressor kicked on and blew out cold air. So I know that works but after a couple of minutes smoke came out of my vents and firewall (Freon). What do you think went wrong ?

If there's no airflow over the condenser (like, you're not driving and/or the aux fan isn't spinning) then the system will overheat and vent the freon. That happened to me when my aux fan died.

Try putting the system on max AC and see if the aux fan kicks on.

Probably adjacent to the radiator? I haven't done anything cooling-system-wise on this truck so I don't know for sure. Go out and dig around a little. Or go on Google and dig around a little. ;)
