@Hemi395 found some video's and paper out there that mds actually lubricates the lifters better then when mds is off. I would read the threads in my sig, do a search, read the polls. If it was pushrods, I doubt with mds engaged would stop the tick, so it is possible a lubrication strategy would work. At the center of both strategies is the science of EP additives, in a lower lubrication application it is these additives and base oils that allow you to retain boundary lubrication. redline 5w30 with a rp 20-820 carries about an 80% success rate, lubegard biotech carries about a 50% success rate. Read the threads and view the polls, these forum developed strategies are proven by ram forum over a decade, the science of these additives have shown in many cases they take time and pressure to plate, so even if the tick isnt gone right away it is still possible 500 miles later it will go quiet. My ticks took 500 miles and then it was gone, and been gone now a decade with a couple self inflicted hickups. worth a shot?
